Broadway, Lawson shine in annual Spring Game
Led by sophomore transfer Terrance Broadway, the Cajun White pushed past the Ragin’ Red in a 25-19 victory at the annual Red vs. White spring game. Broadway, who is now eligible to play after sitting out the 2011 season, went 10 for 18, with 184 yards and two touchdowns.

After dropping three games against the Florida Atlantic University Owls, the Ragin’ Cajuns now stand at a six-game losing streak. The weekend started well enough with the Cajuns taking an early lead against the Owls, but things soon turned for the worst.

Spring Game teases football fans for second Hud season
For a couple of hours on Saturday, football was back. It’s almost a tease for football fans, like a meal that doesn’t quite fill you up. The Spring Game was entertaining, as always, but now we have to wait until September for the real deal. With that being said, we saw a lot of good things this weekend to hold us over until the season starts.

Softball enjoys week off, prepares for South Ala.
Despite losing their first game, the No. 8-ranked Ragin’ Cajuns softball team has a lot to be happy about these days. For starters, after the hardest portion of their schedule, the Cajuns had a chance to sit back and take a breath this past week. According to co-head coach Michael Lotief, the team tried to stay as normal as possible.

Gautier has unexpected competition for starting QB
You would assume, as defending New Orleans Bowl MVP, a title earned by throwing for 470 yards with three touchdowns, quarterback Blaine Gautier would not worry about returning to his starting position in the 2012 season. Coming off the Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns best season in decades, in which Gautier led the charge to a 9-4 record and broke many school single-season records, you would assume the senior would easily slide back into the starting rotation.
