Officers evacuated the Student Union at 12:48 a.m. in response a fire alarm and smoke near Lagniappe Cafe. The Lafayette Fire Department responded and it was confirmed the smoke came from residue on a grill in Lagniappe Cafe.
A witness told officers two students entered Bonin Hall with street signs at 11:57 p.m. The signs and students were located. The students were referred to Student Rights and Responsibilities.
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle doing “donuts” near the maintenance house at 10:03 p.m. No suspects were located.
Officers responded to a report of an alleged sleeping man in Edith Garland Dupré Library men’s restroom on the first floor at 10:03 p.m. The man was found to be unresponsive and Acadian Ambulance transported him to Lafayette General Medical Center. A “white rock-like unknown substance” and “baggies containing various pills” were found at the scene.
An alleged theft of a fraternity row recruiting sign at 2:30 a.m. was reported to officers, who responded to the incident.
Bo Schexnayder, 17, and Mekel Espinoza, 18, were found in the Zone 17 coulee at 1:50 a.m. with suspected marijuana on one individual. They were arrested and released on a misdemeanor summons.
A female student told her ROTC Commander that her live-in girlfriend abused her in their off-campus residence, which he later reported to officers at 11:14 a.m.
Chelsea Courvell, 24, was arrested for possession of marijuana and narcotics after officers responded to a vehicle collision at the intersection of Johnston Street and Ambassador Caffery Parkway at 9:24 p.m.
An Interfraternity Council representative met with officers at 3:52 p.m. regarding a theft of funds by a student in summer 2017.
Erin Theriot, 18, and Blake Feuer, 18, were issued a misdemeanor summons for drug paraphernalia possession in Coronna Hall after officers responded to a report of illegal drug activity in a dorm room.
