A 47-year-old German woman was stabbed to death on the morning of Friday 28 August in Isla Cristina, a tourist resort in the province of Huelva, Andalusia. The victim’s partner, an Italian citizen aged around 60, was arrested for the murder.
According to the first information gathered by the Spanish press, the woman had numerous stab wounds: Huelva Información reports at least twenty stab wounds in different parts of her body. The attack apparently occurred around 9 in the morning, in the area of Avenida del Atlántico, not far from Punta del Caimán beach. The rescuers could do nothing but confirm the death.
The victim and the man, according to the local newspaper, were traveling together in a camper and were on holiday in the area. When help arrived, the alleged attacker was still on the scene and, according to sources cited by Huelva Información, he had a knife in his hand. The man was then stopped by the Guardia Civil.
