[Lima, Peru, September 10, 2026] — SOUEAST has officially launched two plug-in hybrid SUV models: the S06 DM and S08 DM in Lima. It is the first time for the brand to launch hybrid vehicles in Peru, following the introduction of fuel-powered models including the S06, S07 and S09. This marks SOUEAST’s establishment of a dual-powertrain product lineup spanning both fuel-powered and hybrid vehicles, while representing a significant milestone in SOUEAST’s expansion across the Latin American market.
Peru’s geography and traffic conditions make hybrid vehicles a highly suitable choice for the local market. Its diverse terrain, shaped by the Andes, presents challenging road conditions across much of the country. Meanwhile, major cities grapple with severe traffic congestion. According to the TomTom Traffic Index 2026, Lima and Arequipa recorded congestion levels of 69.3% and 69.5%, respectively, both ranking among the world’s most congested cities. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) offer a compelling solution: the flexibility to switch between different energy modes delivers the power and driving range required for challenging terrain and long-distance travel, while providing the efficiency and flexibility for stop-and-go urban commuting. As a result, PHEVs are gaining growing traction among Peruvian consumers.
As PHEV models, both the S06 DM and S08 DM deliver excellent efficiency and driving range for diverse mobility needs. The S06 DM achieves a fuel consumption of 4.9 L/100 km in charge-depleting mode, while the S08 DM records 5.3 L/100 km. Regarding range, the S06 DM offers an NEDC all-electric range of 114 km and a combined range of over 850 km; the S08 DM delivers an NEDC all-electric range of 107 km, combined range exceeding 800 km. In urban driving, both models operate primarily in electric mode, ensuring lower fuel consumption and a quiet, comfortable cabin experience. On highways and longer journeys, the vehicles can switch to hybrid mode, drawing on ample power and extended range to deliver a more confident and assured driving experience.
The two models are tailored to distinct segments. The S06 DM focuses on young urban drivers and the S08 DM on families. Positioned as an Urban Stylish Hybrid SUV, the S06 DM stands out in both aesthetics and performance. It features a sporty open-front fascia, full-width LED taillights, and a 15.6-inch HD central touchscreen. Under the hood, a 1.5TD hybrid-specific engine pairs with an advanced hybrid system to deliver a combined output of 250 kW and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 7.8 seconds, perfectly attuned to the style and mobility expectations of young users. The S08 DM is positioned as a 7-Seat urban comfort SUV. Measuring 4,810 mm in length with a 2,820 mm wheelbase, it features a standard three-row, seven-seat layout and offers up to 32 seating configurations. Standard equipment includes independent side air vents for the second and third rows, enabling full-cabin constant temperature control, a 6.4 L heated and cooled refrigerator and 3.3 kW high-power V2L external power discharge, making it an ideal choice for family travel and group getaways.
Since entering the Peruvian market in November 2025, SOUEAST has built nearly 20 service outlets. The brand is building a nationwide sales and after-sales service network in Peru.
