In the next few days, thousands of families could receive INPS communications regarding the universal single allowance. The reason? Checks relating to related ISEE incomes and possible inconsistencies on the declared figures. According to the Social Security Institute, there are at least 4 thousand “suspicious” practices.
INPS controls
The Single Substitute Declarations (DSU) submitted to obtain a current ISEE certification have come under the microscope, the tool that allows you to update your economic situation in the event of recent changes in income. From the INPS checks, some positions emerged characterized by possible omissions or inconsistencies in self-declared incomes, for which further investigations are necessary. This does not automatically lead to a finding of undue perception.
Incoming communications
As specified by INPS in a note, users will be contacted in the next few days, and those who need to regularize their position will be able to see the amount of the single allowance temporarily redetermined, as always expected when there is no valid ISEE. The effects on monthly payments are expected starting from September 2026. For this reason, some beneficiaries may notice changes to the amount of the current monthly payment, the payment of which is expected between Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd September.
How to correct the ISEE
The recipients of the communication who deem it necessary to update or correct the information declared in the DSU will be able to use the INPS dedicated online services or contact the caf. Interested parties will also be able to contact the competent local structures to provide the documentation needed to confirm the correctness of the self-certified data in the DSU.
“The checks are aimed at verifying the correctness and completeness of the information used to determine the amount of the Single Allowance – explains the INPS – which systematically carries out control and prevention activities of undue perceptions – with the aim of ensuring that social benefits are recognized to those entitled to the amount actually due -, while at the same time safeguarding the correct destination of public resources and the fairness of the welfare system”.
