“Not simply a new building, but a place that gives shape to an idea of the future”. The Valdarno (Arezzo) company Zucchetti Centro Sistemi (Zcs) opened a new chapter in its history on Wednesday 30 September by inaugurating the Palazzo del Futuro, located in via Lungarno and overlooking the A1 motorway.
This is the fifth factory built in the Municipality of Terranuova Bracciolini by the company founded in 1985 and chaired by Fabrizio Bernini, which operates in the digitalisation of business and healthcare, industrial automation and logistics, professional robotics and renewable energy. The newly inaugurated facility will host approximately 200-250 employees and joins the already existing Palazzo delle Idee e della Tecnologia, the Palazzo dell’Innovazione and the Logistic Hub, the latter present in the same area as the new structure.
The new building
Born within a broader path of growth, innovation and sustainable redevelopment of the territory, the new headquarters combines production spaces and offices in a single complex of over 5 thousand square meters in total.
The building is spread over several levels: approximately 2,380 m2 are dedicated to production on the ground floor, while the offices occupy a total of 2,730 m2, distributed between the first and second floors. The basement also houses a 2,700 m2 private car park for 77 parking spaces, to which is added a public car park with 154 spaces, of which 96 have been created as green parks – a choice that reduces the waterproofing of the soil and is part of a logic of environmental sustainability that guides the entire project, from the external spaces to the energy that powers it.
A photovoltaic system has been created on the roof, making the building 100% self-sufficient from an energy point of view. The system has a total power of 180 kW and is composed of a 110 kW Zcs Azzurro photovoltaic inverter and a 60 kW Zcs Azzurro hybrid inverter, combined with 2 Zcs Azzurro Power Mini storage units for a storage capacity of 160 kWh. The energy is produced by 330 photovoltaic panels, which cover 80% of the available roof surface.
The inauguration
At the ribbon cutting, in addition to the top management and managers of the various divisions – Software, Healthcare, Zcs People, Automation, Robotics and Green Innovation – in which the company is structured, there were the regional councilor Filippo Boni, the mayor of Terranuova Sergio Chienni, the prefect of Arezzo Fabrizio Stelo, the provincial commander of the Carabinieri of Arezzo Pasquale D’Antonio, the president of Confindustria Toscana Sud Giordana Giordini and the president of the Arezzo-Siena Chamber of Commerce Massimo Guasconi.
“The Palazzo del Futuro is an important investment in the area – states Zcs president Fabrizio Bernini – which expresses confidence in the future, in a scenario marked by economic and geopolitical uncertainties and the strong acceleration of artificial intelligence in all business contexts. We want to be a meeting point between research and the market, between internally developed skills and new sectors such as collaborative robotics and industrial logistics, between international growth and rooting in Tuscany”.
“We are working on the managerialisation of the company structure – explains his daughter Chiara Bernini, head of the financial management – which is made up of 5 business units and each of which has a manager and a director of its own technical and commercial department. The more we grow and the more the complexity of the competitive and international context increases, the challenge we have undertaken is to insert people with specific experience for each area of application, having full autonomy in management and strategic choices, thus trying to make the company increasingly independent from those who founded it to guarantee continuity and development in the future”.
The Zucchetti reality
In over 40 years of activity, Zucchetti Centro Sistemi has become a multidisciplinary group made up of 19 companies and over 850 people, with territorial offices in 11 Italian regions and 5 foreign countries. At its helm is Fabrizio Bernini, awarded the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella in 2017 and since last June he has held the role of president of Confindustria Toscana.

ZCS aims to close 2026 with a consolidated turnover of 240 million euros, up 10% on the previous year (exceeded 220 million in 2025). In the two-year period 2024-25, there were several corporate acquisitions carried out by the Valdarno company. In 2026 the Group expects to close three more acquisitions of historic software companies. The operations in HR software will lead to the birth of ZCS People Spa in 2027.

In 2026 Zcs invested approximately 5 million euros in research and development on new products and technologies and hired over 30 people (in addition to the 130 new employees in 2025). The development and centrality of the Laboratorio della Follia continues, a group of engineers created by Bernini in 2023 to make skills dedicated to Artificial Intelligence and the experimentation of new technologies available to all the Group’s entities.
