Alberto Vacchi buys the Hotel de la Poste in Cortina: it will become super luxury

Cortina Holding, a vehicle headed by the family holding of Alberto Vacchi (CEO of the Ima spa group), has acquired the entire share capital of Hotel de la Poste srl, owner of the hotel of the same name in Cortina d’Ampezzo, from the Manaigo and Esposito families. We learn this from a note from the past few hours.

Fifty-five high-end rooms and suites

The hotel will be the subject of an important redevelopment and repositioning project in the 5-star luxury segment, with the aim of creating a high-end product capable of combining architectural tradition with a contemporary and international concept.

The project hypothesis involves the construction of a structure of approximately 55 large rooms and suites and an offer of services consistent with the luxury positioning. The restoration of the Bar del Posta, two restaurants, a spa and new spaces for private events is also planned.

The symbol of Ampezzo hospitality

Founded in 1804 by the Manaigo family as a staging post for changing horses along the Dolomite routes, the hotel evolved over the course of the 19th century from a simple inn to a symbol of Ampezzo hospitality, becoming the historic lounge and social point of reference in the heart of the town.

Its international fame was consolidated in the twentieth century thanks to the stay of famous historical and literary figures, first of all Ernest Hemingway, who made it his home during his summer and winter stays, writing some of his stories here.

The role in history

Continuously maintained by the same family for over two centuries, the structure has accompanied the transformation of Cortina from an Alpine village to an elite destination for tourism and winter sports, preserving the traditional architecture and a historical archive that testifies to its central role in the history of Dolomite hotel industry.
