Today Apple introduced HomeView. With a 7″ Liquid Retina display, HomeView brings together entertainment content, communication features and smart home device management, including music playback, FaceTime calls, home monitoring and voice automations, in one place.

Design
HomeView has a sleek aluminum design, with a 7″ Liquid Retina display attached to a dome speaker base via a stainless steel hinge, allowing you to tilt the device for comfortable viewing whatever the height of the table. Perfect on the kitchen countertop or bedside table, HomeView is available in four colours, silver, galaxy, pink and space grey, with a matching cable.
The Liquid Retina screen always remains clearly visible even from afar. It features adaptive display technologies, including True Tone, that react to changes in light throughout the day. The brightness automatically adjusts between 500 nits, enough to see everything clearly even in a sunny room, and 0.3 nits, ideal on the bedside table. The HomeView interface intelligently adapts based on the user’s distance: from a distance it shows information in a simplified, easy to see way, up close the data becomes increasingly detailed.
HomeView is also available in a wall version, in space gray and silver, with the same 7″ Liquid Retina display.
Features and Siri AI
HomeView recognizes up to six people and offers a personalized experience to each of them. Each person will have their own Home screen, with specific apps and widgets. Personal content remains private, while shared photo albums and music are accessible to all members of the family group, even guests.
HomeView includes Siri AI, a completely new version of Siri powered by next-generation Apple Intelligence and advanced Apple chips. Siri AI is a profoundly more capable and natural assistant in interactions: it understands personal context and knows what appears on the display. Siri has access to a world of information and can answer virtually any question from anyone in the house.
With an iPhone or iPad with Apple Intelligence, Siri AI can do even more for each person, performing actions in apps and showing relevant information from Messages and Calendar, playlists on Apple Music and more, based on personal context. Interactions initiated through HomeView continue seamlessly in the Siri app, which uses iCloud to sync history across user devices privately, so they can then be resumed on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, or Apple Vision Pro.
Custom dials
Users can customize HomeView by choosing from a collection of fun watch faces that display information at a glance. The Photo dial brings your most precious memories to life with depth effects that keep the subject sharp, expertly blurring the background and foreground. By selecting a shared album, the user can transform HomeView into a dynamic photo frame that other loved ones can help fill. The Flow dial responds dynamically to your presence and movements, transforming HomeView into a true interactive work of art. And even Snoopy can come to life on HomeView, with animations dedicated to the time of day, the weather and sporting events.
Audio
The two custom-made full-range drivers integrated into the display promise crystal-clear, detailed sound, and the spatial audio creates an immersive effect. A downward-firing woofer and two force-cancelling passive radiators dedicated to low frequencies are integrated into the base.
HomeView is perfect for enjoying Apple Music, with animated album art and song lyrics, but also Apple Podcasts, Apple News, Apple TV and compatible third-party audio and video apps. With Handoff, the user can continue listening to the song that was playing on the iPhone in the car or while walking by simply bringing the device closer to the HomeView display. By setting up multiple HomeView, HomePod, HomePod mini, and AirPlay-compatible speakers around your home, you can enjoy music anywhere in your home with multiroom audio.
Video calls and other functions
FaceTime and Auto Framing always keep you at the center of the scene, even as you move around the room. The user can read messages and respond using voice or the on-screen keyboard. With Intercom you can make a message heard in just one room or throughout the house, also reaching other HomePod and HomeView speakers, and personal devices such as iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch. In the kitchen, HomeView is a perfect sous chef: it transforms recipes found on the web into detailed instructions with hands-free timer control and ingredient verification, allowing the user to concentrate only on the preparation.
With Find My, the user can always know where loved ones who have shared their location are, or track an iPhone, AirPods charging case or a personal item attached to an AirTag. And with real-time activity, HomeView shows you helpful information at a glance, like the title of the song playing, an active timer, or an incoming message from another room with Intercom.
Home automation
HomeView allows you to control home automation devices safely with just a touch or simply with your voice via Siri AI, whether it’s viewing the camera feed, adjusting the thermostat and lights, locking the doors or lowering the shutters. The Home Modular dial offers instant access to your favorite accessories, while the Home Camera dial allows you to stream up to nine video feeds simultaneously.
With an iCloud+ subscription and compatible cameras, HomeView can intelligently recognize people, familiar faces, pets, package delivery and vehicles.
HomeView is also compatible with the Apple Home Collection, the new line of home automation accessories that includes cameras, thermostats and a smart lock, designed in collaboration with Lg Electronics and Schneider Electric, and with other accessories compatible with Apple Home and Matter.
Availability and price
HomeView is currently not available for purchase in Italy and other European Union countries due to the current unavailability of Siri AI on iOS in European territory. The company said it was working with European Union institutions to find a solution.
In the United States, Apple HomeView costs $299 in both the desktop and wall versions.
