At 63 she becomes a mother thanks to in vitro fertilization

A 63-year-old woman has become a mother. The 63-year-old, resident in the province of Lucca, gave birth to her baby by cesarean section after undergoing in vitro fertilization in Kiev. The newspaper 'la Nazione' reported the story of the new mother, who gave birth last Monday at the Versilia hospital in Lido di Camaiore.

The newborn, weighing 2 kilos, was born at 31 weeks and 4 days. The birth took place last Monday, almost as a matter of urgency, the newspaper reports: the blood pressure had risen and the doctor deemed it appropriate to intervene immediately. The pregnancy, the gynecologist reports, had been uneventful. “Of course, I was worried, at first incredulous, I even teased her good-naturedly” continues the doctor, according to whom, however, the woman “got involved, she wanted this child very badly and flew to Ukraine twice.”

As the newspaper reconstructs, a first attempt, which took place two years ago, failed: the woman had an abortion at the 14th week. Then the new fertilization last autumn when the woman, despite the war, returned to Ukraine, where the age limit of 50 does not exist.

Now the little one is in the premature ward: as soon as he reaches his ideal weight his mother will be able to take him home where his 93 year old grandmother is also waiting for him.
