Cavallera (Aspi): “Stop Work Authority, from Autostrade per l'Italia a participation tool for safety, now extended to the sector”

Dialogue with trade unions, protection of organizational health and well-being and continuous training are fundamental elements for strengthening people’s safety and accompanying the evolution of work. These are the pillars of the path started by Autostrade per l’Italia to combine innovation, well-being and professional growth. The Stop Work Authoritythe tool that recognizes every worker’s right and duty to interrupt an activity in the presence of a potentially dangerous situation. One of the initiatives adopted by ASPI in recent years, this practice has now become a reference for the motorway sector and, thanks to discussions with other concessionaires and trade unions, has contributed to its extension to the entire sector through the latest renewal of the National Collective Labor Agreement (CCNL).
«The future of work will depend on the choices we are able to make today, investing in people and transforming change into an opportunity for growth», he declared Antonio CavalleraDirector of Human Capital & Organization of ASPI, speaking at the event «Which job”, hosted at the Rome Chamber of Commerce as part of the celebrations for “Twenty-five years of industrial relations with Il Diario del Lavoro».
«Technology, and in particular artificial intelligence, is transforming the tools, processes and contents of work. Artificial intelligence must expand human capabilities, leaving judgment, responsibility and the final decision to people. The challenge is to accompany the evolution of professions, enhancing professionalism» underlined Cavallera.
In this process, dialogue with trade union organizations is essential to anticipate the effects of transformations and identify sustainable solutions. «Technological innovation and social innovation must proceed together: businesses grow if professionalism also grows and if people have tools and opportunities to participate in change» concluded Cavallera.
