The transition to the new DVB-T2 signal of the digital terrestrialwhich officially took place last August 28, continues to create more than a few headaches among users, who still complain about the difficulty in viewing certain channels that suddenly disappeared from their saved lists. Before proceeding with more “radical” solutions, it is still possible to take cover by resorting to some simple and intuitive tricks.
The farewell to the old DVB-T marked an important moment for television broadcasts, which starting last month entered Italian homes with a decidedly higher quality level. In order to benefit from this technological innovationhowever, many people needed to equip themselves with recently manufactured television sets or decoders suitable for receiving the new signal.
In general, all televisions purchased from December 22, 2018 onwards were found to be compatible with the DVB-T2while owners of television sets manufactured before that date were forced to make a new purchase or at least equip themselves with a suitable decoder. If in doubt about this, simply tune your television to channel 100 and check whether the words “Test HEVC Main 10” appear on the screen: if this happens, then it means that the compatibility it’s certain, otherwise you will have to replace the TV with a more recently manufactured one or equip the old television with a decoder capable of reading the new signal.
The problem is that many people, despite having proceeded as indicated well in advance by the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy, continue to complain problems in viewing channels, and this despite the continuous system updates. The biggest difficulties are in the search, since the channels are often changing location lately.
At this point there are two available solutions, that is to provide retune lists automatically or manually. To do this, simply take the TV or decoder remote control and access the Menu and then the Settings: once you have found, among the various items, the one specifically dedicated to the Channel List or Channel Search, you can proceed as you wish. Once the operation is completed, you will be able to have the updated list based on the most recent system updates performed, recovering those channels that seemed to have disappeared out of the blue.
If even these solutions are not sufficient to achieve the desired goal,
you may need to proceed with the purchase of a signal amplifier or, in more extreme cases, by planning an intervention on the antenna to which the television set is connected.
