How is Donald Trump, the latest medical bulletin: "He has gained weight and has swollen hands, excellent mental health"

Donald Trump enjoys excellent “mental and physical health”, but has gained a few pounds. After the doubts that have emerged in recent weeks about the conditions of the president of the United States, the White House has released the results of the check-up to which the tycoon underwent last Tuesday, the third since the beginning of his mandate.

The bulletin

Trump will turn 80 in two weeks and, as confirmed by the Wall Street Journal, he underwent analyzes and consultations with 22 specialists from various academic institutes at the Walter Reed military hospital. Navy Captain Sean Barbabella, the doctor who signed the report, assured that “the president is in excellent condition”: “The president’s cognitive and physical performance is excellent, his mental state is normal. Trump is fully capable of carrying out all the duties of the commander in chief and head of state.”

Weight gain

The report released by the White House contains “advice for prevention, including advice on diet, the recommendation to take a low dose of aspirin, increase physical activity and lose weight”. And this last one seems to be the sore point: “The president weighs 238 pounds (about 108 kg), that is, 14 more (about 6.3 kg) compared to the 2025 visit.”

The stains

As for the recommendation to reduce aspirin, it appears to be a recurring piece of advice that Trump, who suffers from chronic venous insufficiency, has publicly said he does not want to follow. “I want my blood to stay fluid,” he explained recently in an interview. It would be precisely the excess of acetylsalicylic acid that favors the bruises photographed several times on the president’s hands. According to Barbabella, the bruises were the result of “frequent handshakes and the benign effect of aspirin therapy”. As for the swelling in the lower limbs, according to the doctor it is “mild and has improved compared to last year”.
