KFC lands on the ski slopes at 2,000 meters: opens two restaurants in Madonna di Campiglio and Cortina d'Ampezzo

Kfc lands on the Italian ski slopes: the first two high-altitude restaurants will open in Madonna di Campiglio (Trento) and Cortina d’Ampezzo (Belluno) on 5 December 2026, in partnership with Super G. It is the first time in Italy that a Quick Service Restaurant operates directly on the snow.

The two openings – directly managed – arise from the collaboration between the fried chicken brand and Super G, a high-altitude hospitality operator known for its Mountain Clubs and après-ski formula. The declared objective, we read in a note, is to respond to the new habits of travelers and an increasingly international and diversified tourism.

Where and when

In Madonna di Campiglio, at 1,700 meters, the store will be located in the Piana di Nambino area, next to the Meraviglioso Campiglio restaurant. In Cortina d’Ampezzo, at 2,123 metres, it will be found in the Monte Faloria-Cristallo area, inside the Faloria Mountain Club, with a terrace and large windows overlooking the area.

Both venues will open on December 5, 2026 and will remain operational until the end of the season. Hours: Monday to Thursday from 12pm to 5pm; Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 7.30pm.

The menu and the offer

The menu will offer a selection of the brand’s best-known products: Tender Crispy, Spicy Wings, sandwiches, side dishes and Buckets. According to what was communicated by the company, the preparation will follow the same standards as traditional restaurants: whole chicken fillets, not ground or recomposed, hand-breaded and fried on the spot.

The spaces will be integrated into the visual identity of the Super G Mountain Clubs, with dedicated areas and specific furnishings. The project will also involve Super G’s social channels and digital contents.

“Gen Z is one of the most loyal audiences”

“We strongly wanted this project because it perfectly represents the way we imagine the evolution of KFC: continuing to surprise, reaching places where no one would expect to find us and doing so without giving up what makes us unique,” declares Marzia Farè, chief marketing officer of KFC Italia.

“Gen Z has always been one of our most loyal audiences, but we want to continue to expand the KFC community and also dialogue with a more transversal audience, from young families to mountain enthusiasts. The high altitude allows us to do this through a new format, which strengthens the premium positioning of the brand. With this project, KFC confirms itself as a trend setter, capable of anticipating trends not only in the world of food, but also in the creation of new formats and consumption opportunities. Today we bring our chicken to the slopes skiing, maintaining exactly the same quality that we offer in our restaurants. The experience changes, KFC does not change,” he continues.

“We believe that hospitality must be able to interpret the plurality of its audiences, expanding the possibilities of choice and creating new meeting opportunities”, adds Andrea Baccuini, founder of Super G. “With Super G we have always worked to make the day at altitude an experience capable of bringing together different people and interests. The collaboration with KFC is part of this path: an international brand, familiar to different generations, enters the offer of our Mountain Clubs and broadens the opportunities for use. This is the value we recognize in a partnership: contribute to a shared project, enriching its proposals and strengthening its identity”, he concludes.

The development plan

The two openings are part of KFC’s 2026 growth plan, which aims to reach 185 restaurants by the end of the year, with a 22% increase in revenues compared to 2025, over 800 new jobs and an expected growth in customers of 20%.
