Our journey continues to discover the new Ninkear products and after review of the L20 mini PClet’s try the U9 Pro AI notebook today. Laptop with large 16-inch screen, powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, 24 GB of RAM and large 1 TB SSD.
Let us therefore analyze in detail all the features and performances of the new Ninkear U9 Pro AI.
Design and technical features
The Ninkear U9 Pro AI presents itself with an elegant and refined design and a body in aluminum and plastic, in Silver colour. Well assembled laptop, with generous dimensions, equal to 360 x 250 x 21 mm, with a weight of 1.7 kg.
Notebook equipped with a 16-inch IPS screen, with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600p, 100% sRGB color coverage, 120 Hz refresh and a useful anti-glare matte finish.
Let’s move on to the backlit keyboard (2 intensity levels), with numeric keypad, accompanied by a good-sized touchpad, with integrated fingerprint recognition sensor. Unfortunately, the keyboard has a US-international layout, without accented characters. However, the package includes stickers to apply to the keys that allow you to update the keyboard to the Italian version.
The heart of Ninkear’s notebook is the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, based on the Meteor Lake architecture, with 16 Cores – 22 Threads, maximum frequency up to 5.1 GHz and Tdp of 45W / 115W. The processor integrates a GPU based on the Intel Xe-LPG architecture (derived from Intel Arc dedicated video cards) with 8 It provides up to 11 Tops of computing power and when combined with the CPU and GPU Arc, the platform reaches an overall peak of 35 Tops. NPU useful for managing simple AI functions locally.
Let’s not forget the memory allocation with 24GB of LpDdr5 RAM and a 1TB M.2 Nvme SSD (2 TB version coming soon).
We also remember the wireless connectivity which includes 6 ax WiFi and Bluetooth 5.2, the 79.80Wh (7,000mAh) battery, the 2 MP front camera, the microphone and the two stereo speakers. Let’s not forget the cooling system, with ventilation grills on the underside and behind the monitor hinge and a fan that can only be heard when the PC is under stress.
Let’s move on to the provision of ports starting from the left side where we find two fully functional USB-Cs, one HDMI and one USB-A. On the right there are two USB-A, a microSD slot, a 3.5 mm audio jack input and a Kensington connection.
Finally, the package which, in addition to the power supply, includes various stickers, a wired Ninkear mouse and a mat.
Software, performance and price
The Ninkear U9 Pro AI is equipped with the Windows 11 Pro operating system, without any accessory programs, with the exception of WPS Office pre-installed on the PC.
Let’s now move on to the performance analysis. Ninkear has created a notebook with a powerful Intel processor and a large SSD. Ideal laptop for Office programs, web browsing, viewing video content, programming and also suitable for photo and video editing. In the gaming sector, it is possible to use games that are not very demanding from a technical point of view, such as Asphalt 9, or old titles with high detail and in 2.5K, such as Gta V. In latest generation games, such as Cyberpunk 2077, the activation of the Intel Xess algorithm allows you to reach 30-40 frames per second, at low detail. Too bad for the underpowered NPU.
The startup speed of applications and Windows is decent, with the SSD reaching 3,571 MB/s for reading and 2,054 MB/s for writing. PC which recorded a score of 1,980 points in single core and 9,682 in multi-core in the Geekbench benchmark. The GPU, however, reached a score of 23,330 points (OpenCl test).
Let’s move on to the large display with decent brightness, fast, natural colors, good resolution and wide viewing angles.
Let’s continue with the keyboard which allows fast and error-free typing. The keys, with a fairly long travel, are of good size except for the first row. Keyboard which, unfortunately, tends to flex slightly during use. The touchpad does not disappoint, large and precise.
Let’s not forget the webcam and speakers of only sufficient quality and battery life of around 8-9 hours.
Finally the interesting quality/price ratio. The Ninkear U9 Pro AI is can be purchased here for 959 euros.
