The conflict in Ukraine? “I think things are coming to an end.” Word of Vladimir Putin. The Russian president answered journalists’ questions during the press conference for Victory Day, an event held in Moscow. And the tenant of the Kremlin said he was willing to negotiate with the European Union.

The negotiations

Putin explained that he was ready to accept as a European Union negotiator with Moscow any leader who had not expressed negative judgments on Russia. But personally, he said while speaking to journalists, the ideal negotiator for dialogue between Russia and Europe is the former German Chancellor Schroeder. On May 7, European Council President Antonio Costa said the EU was preparing for possible negotiations with Russia and the Russian president on the conflict in Ukraine.

During his speech, Putin then explained that Russia has not received any proposals from Ukraine regarding a large prisoner exchange announced by US President Donald Trump. “We count on the Ukrainian side to respond to the proposal put forward by the US president. Unfortunately, so far we have not received any proposal yet.”
