Tamoil cuts the price of petrol and diesel until October 31st

It was in the air, now it’s official. Tamoil Italia has also decided to apply a discount on the average prices of petrol and diesel, adopting “a series of measures aimed at mitigating the price of fuels marketed at its network of branded distributors”. The decision came after discussions between the Italian Prime Minister and the Libyan government had intensified in recent hours to encourage Tamoil’s adhesion to the appeal on the fuel price cap.

Tamoil did not specify what these measures will consist of or how much prices will be reduced. The initiative follows similar ones announced in the last week by Eni, Ip and Q8 to contain the increase in fuel costs caused by the war in the Middle East and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Price cuts until October 31st

The company, which belongs to the international Libyan group Oilinvest, “welcoming the appeals from institutions and consumer associations – we read in a note – intends to concretely contribute to supporting the mobility of citizens through the implementation of interventions aimed at containing fuel prices”. The measures adopted, it is further specified, “were designed to generate benefits both for final consumers and for the economic sustainability of the activities connected to the distribution network”. The initiative will remain in force until Saturday 31 October 2026.

Tamoil, like Ip and Q8, has not currently communicated the price of the cap it applies, but given that the companies update their price lists every morning and communicate the updates it is possible to check the maximum price they apply. However, this is not an official commitment like the one made by Eni. Furthermore, the six-legged dog also declared that the roof could be extended until the end of the year (it left on September 28 for thirty days), while the other oil companies only spoke of a month.

9,300 pumps with discount

Based on the calculations of Staffetta Daily, also counting the just under 3,900 Eni sales points and the approximately 2,900 Q8, there are today approximately 7,700 service stations that apply the cap, out of a total of almost 22 thousand. Among these, we count around forty Costantin sales points (of the approximately 115 that make up the network). Tamoil has 1,587 points of sale in Italy. The total number of pumps with the discount will rise to approximately 9,300.
