Choc on an Ita Airways flight that left Paris on the evening of October 19th and headed to Rome Fiumicino. A passenger fell ill while the plane was flying over Switzerland and an emergency landing was made in Zurich but, despite being rescued, the woman died before the ambulance left the runway. The victim is a 61-year-old Australian.
Fatal illness in flight
The woman was among the passengers on Ita Airways flight AZ325 Paris – Rome. She suddenly felt ill, the on-board staff gave her aid and two doctors who were on the plane with her also intervened, but the situation immediately appeared very serious.
“Suddenly I heard heartbreaking screams on board, I think from the husband – a passenger told Repubblica -. The Ita Airways flight attendants rushed to help this poor woman in difficulty”.
Then the pilot decided to make the emergency landing in Zurich. An ambulance and the police were waiting on the track, but there was nothing that could be done for the passenger: she died before reaching the ambulance. The plane then left for Rome Fiumicino where it landed regularly.
