The 'smart refrigerators' that reinvent the lunch break: the growth of Foorban and the new 7.2 million round

The food tech Foorban has closed a 7.2 million euro investment round from the Impact Partners fund. The investment will allow us to expand the smart fridge network in Italy and Europe, guaranteeing “a healthy lunch break accessible to all workers”.

Foorban’s business

Founded in Milan in 2016, Foorban offers companies an alternative to the traditional canteen through a plug-and-play solution based on smart refrigerators, connected to a proprietary application and stocked withready meals, healthy and balanced directly in the workplace”.

Last year the company reached 12 million in turnover, reaching operational break-even, more than 500 client companies and 800 smart fridges installed. An important acceleration compared to the 8 million revenues recorded in 2024, when over 250 customers were served. Furthermore, in the last four years food tech has recorded an compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 50%.

Impact Partners’ first investment

The operation, we read in a note, represents the first investment in Italy by the Impact Partners fund, dedicated to supporting companies with a measurable social impact.

“We are thrilled to support Marco Mottolese and his team in consolidating leadership in Italy and accelerating international expansion,” says Abderzak Sifer, managing partner of Impact Partners, in a note from the past few hours.
