The Unicomm group celebrates World Savings Day, scheduled for Saturday 1 November 2026, with a series of initiatives dedicated to economic convenience, energy efficiency and the reduction of food waste. The Vicenza-based company, present in seven regions of central-northern Italy with over 200 direct sales points under the Emisfero, Famila, A&O, Mega, Emi, Hurrà and C+C brands, has joined the 102nd Italian edition of the anniversary, whose theme is “Savings in a changing society”.
On the economic front
On the convenience side, the “Spesa Difesa” basket offers customers over 500 Selex references, from food categories to household and personal products. Added to this are the offers on hundreds of products from major brands, renewed every fortnight in the chain’s stores.
Energy and food waste
For energy efficiency, Unicomm has installed, in the structures involved, photovoltaic systems to cover part of the electricity consumption, high-efficiency LED lighting systems and BMS systems for the monitoring and management of the main electrical loads.
On the waste front, the group has entered into agreements with local non-profit organizations to collect and distribute surplus food, delivered directly to families in need. The activity is supported by constant awareness-raising among employees in the fresh and very fresh departments.
World Savings Day was born in 1924 with the aim of raising awareness among the population about the value of money. Over time the anniversary has broadened its meaning, including the saving of natural resources, energy and food.
