A military Air Force aircraft, with Palestinian children in need of care on board, has landed in the evening in Milan and will continue his journey to Pisa and Rome. The young patients, accompanied by their family members and a medical team, will immediately be transferred to Italian hospital facilities to receive the necessary treatments. “Behind every mission like this there are stories of suffering, but also of hope,” said the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto. “These children, forced to leave their land to be able to cure themselves, represent the most fragile face of a conflict that does not spare anyone. Italy does not remain indifferent: we will continue to work to guarantee assistance and protection to those who need it. A special thanks goes to all those who have made this operation possible: the staff of the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the Civil Protection.” This mission is part of a wider humanitarian commitment that sees Italy at the forefront of assistance to the civilian population of Gaza. In addition to the health evacuation of vulnerable patients, our country actively participates in the Eubam-Rafah international mission, facilitating the transit of wounded and sick to the Rafah pass, guarantees the transport of humanitarian aids by air and maritime and has provided health support with Vulcano ship of the Navy. Italy thus confirms its role as a nation engaged in international solidarity, with the aim of offering concrete help to those who are most affected by the dramatic consequences of the conflict.
