After the presentation a few days ago, the time has come for our test of the new realme 16 Pro+. Mid-range smartphone, with a slim and elegant look, equipped with an advanced photographic compartment and a large battery.
Let’s therefore analyze in detail all the features and performances of the new realme 16 Pro+.
Design and packaging
Realme 16 Pro+ boasts elegant and refined shapes that are striking at first glance; lines created in collaboration with Naoto Fukasawa, a well-known Japanese designer. Let’s start from the refined rear where we find the camera module slightly protruding from the body. Polished aluminum element which, unfortunately, tends to retain the user’s fingerprints. The realme 16 Pro Plus introduces bio-based organic silicone for the first time in the smartphone sector, a sustainable material derived from vegetable straw, with a soft texture that is pleasant to the touch.
Let’s continue with the shiny metal side profile. On the right side we find the power button and the volume rocker. At the bottom, the USB-C port flanked by the trolley for the two SIMs and the second speaker (the earpiece acts as the first speaker).

Let’s not forget the IR emitter at the top and the front with thin frames that wrap the curved display on the sides, protected by a film pre-applied at the factory.
We conclude with the package which includes a transparent cover and a USB-C cable.

There are three strong points of the new realme 16 Pro+: the complete, bright and fast Amoled display, the advanced photographic sector, with 200 MP sensor and very powerful zoom up to 120x, and the large 7,000 mAh battery.

Software analysis

The realme 16 Pro+ runs Android 16 with Realme UI 7.0 (January 2026 patch). Too bad for the presence of numerous pre-installed apps, which can however be removed by the user.
Nice software that includes numerous features and many options for customizing the user interface. Let’s start with the Zen Space app which helps you maintain concentration. We then find the lighting of the edges of the screen when notifications are received and the sidebar to open apps in the window.
There is no shortage of voice translation and transcription services managed by AI. AI Gaming Coach, on the other hand, learns user behavior by offering real-time optimizations and personalized gaming recommendations. Realme 16 Pro+ also includes the AI Intelligent Loop function which allows you to extract text and images from content displayed on the screen and send them to an app chosen by the user via a pop-up side menu.

The camera management software is decidedly complete and includes numerous modes such as Portrait (with useful additional functions), Night, Food, Slow motion, Time lapse, Long exposure, Text/document scanner, Panorama and more. We also mention the LumaColor Image system, a proprietary technology for photographic processing developed in collaboration with TÜV Rheinland, useful for improving colors, skin rendering and depth in portraits.
Furthermore, there is no shortage of various functions managed by artificial intelligence for improving shots such as AI Framing Master which intelligently guides the arrangement of elements, automatically identifying the best shot, thus helping to obtain high quality photos. We also mention AI Landscape, useful for improving landscapes. We then find various intelligent filters and scenarios. Additional AI features allow you to create short clips from a collection of shots and edit photos within the gallery with the ability to change lighting and style, enhance portraits or process shots simply via text prompts (background management, adding elements and more).
Performance analysis

Let’s now analyze the performance of the realme 16 Pro+ with a very positive overall opinion. Fast and responsive smartphone, with a fluid interface and good performance even in video games, with some limited slowdown only in the most demanding titles.
Let’s continue with the display: a high quality Amoled, fast and with natural colours. Screen with thin bezels, with a high refresh rate. Unlocks are fast and precise via face recognition and with the fingerprint sensor integrated into the screen. Complete connectivity.

No problems in the telephone/audio sector, with speakers of decent quality and good power. Too bad about the vibration, a bit cheap.
Let’s continue with the photographic sector. The photos from the 200 MP main camera (2X digital zoom), optically stabilized, with detailed shots and natural colours, are very good. Positive judgment also on portraits and photos in low light conditions, with an effective night mode.

The wide angle of only 8 MP is discreet. The 3.5x periscope sensor is excellent, optically stabilized, which allows extremely detailed shots even at long distances. Zoom capable of reaching 120x via digital processing. We also remember the advanced flash, which can be used as a fill light and can be manually adjusted (brightness and color temperature). Positive opinion also on the front camera, with quite natural and detailed shots. Videos up to 4K and 60 fps are also good, even from the selfie camera.
Below are three shots taken respectively with the main camera, with the wide angle and with the 120x zoom.

Let’s not forget the high autonomy, with the 7,000 mAh battery which allows 2/3 days of average use and a day and a half with intense use of the smartphone. There is no shortage of fast charging: from 0 to 60% in about 30 minutes, 100% in 64 minutes. Unfortunately, wireless charging is missing.

The build quality is excellent, with a positive opinion also on the original back cover in soft vegan leather, quite resistant and of high quality. Ergonomics are very good, with low weight and thickness despite the large battery.
