About 10 days before the attack on October 7, 2023, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was reportedly personally warned by the Emirati leader Mohammed bin Zayed that Hamas was planning a major offensive against the Jewish State, deciding not to inform the Israeli security leaders. The accusation
Mohammed bin Zayed reportedly told Netanyahu that the then Hamas leader, Yahya Sinwar, was preparing an offensive that would cause many casualties, destabilize the region and jeopardize the Abraham Accords.
Netanyahu allegedly told him that Israel had the situation in the Gaza Strip under control, that any Hamas initiative would probably be concentrated in the West Bank and that the country was in any case prepared to face any scenario. According to the investigation, the Israeli prime minister did not convey the alarm to Israeli security officials.
