Lg: new products for the smart home in collaboration with Apple

LG Electronics has presented a new range of smart home accessories, developed in collaboration with Apple. The Apple Home Collection includes indoor and outdoor cameras, a video intercom, a smart lock, a smart thermostat and temperature sensors.

The collaboration between LG and Apple goes beyond simple compatibility between devices. The two companies worked together on product development to ensure a consistent and intuitive user experience, from initial setup to daily home management. Through the Home app and Siri, users can easily control multiple devices at once and create customized automations based on their habits.

Below are the main characteristics of the various products.

Cameras

Thanks to video resolution up to 2.5K, color night vision and wide viewing angle, LG’s new cameras allow you to monitor home environments clearly and in detail both day and night. Intelligent recognition features allow you to distinguish people, pets, vehicles and other movements, helping to reduce irrelevant notifications. Users can define specific areas to exclude from recording or viewing and rely on built-in local storage for even more flexible management. The range includes three models:

Lg Indoor Cam Plug-In: thanks to the 160° viewing angle, it monitors a large area of the room. It also includes an auto-tilt function and physical controls to easily stop tracking and protect your privacy.
Lg Outdoor Cam Plug-In: Designed for outdoor use, it combines 2.5K resolution, color night vision and reliable performance in different lighting conditions.
Lg Floodlight Cam: integrates two spotlights that activate automatically when activity is detected.

Doorbell with video camera

Video doorbell that allows you to precisely monitor the entrance to your home and the surrounding areas. The dual camera system combines a 2.5K front camera with a Full HD camera offering a complete view of the entrance. The device can recognize people, pets, vehicles and delivered packages, sending notifications directly to Apple devices. It also supports two-way audio communications and color night vision.

Smart lock

The new Lg smart lock combines security, simplicity and practicality in an elegant and minimal design. Thanks to the Home Key function available on iPhone and Apple Watch and Ultra Wideband technology, it allows the door to be unlocked automatically when the authorized user approaches. Alternative access methods are also available via NFC, Pin code or traditional key.

Smart thermostat and temperature sensor

Thanks to Apple’s Adaptive Temperature function, the system can automatically adjust heating and cooling based on the user’s daily routines, adapting to the moments when you are at home or during night rest. In combination with Lg Temperature Sensor, the thermostat monitors the temperature and humidity in different rooms to help maintain more uniform comfort throughout the home. Advanced sensing algorithms ensure accurate measurements and rapid response to environmental changes, while Matter over Thread support ensures a reliable and power-efficient connection.
