Anyone who has a washerwater robot knows it is a valid help for cleaning, but but 3i S10 Ultra is the only one which – today – is able to be truly autonomous. Or at least this is the promise. The main feature of S10 Ultra, in fact, is to never have to empty dirty water and never have to fill the clean water tank. Possible? Black magic? We tried it, that’s what happened …

How 3I S10 Ultra works: where is the dirty water ends?
First of all, it is necessary to understand the functioning of this washerwater robot. For clean water it is easy to imagine where it comes from: from the air. The robot includes in his station a dehumidifier that extracts humidity from the air transforming it into water. But how does the S10 Ultra a download the dirty water without being connected to a drain pipe? Simple, recycling distilling it.
The technology is called Waterrecycle and uses a distillation process at a temperature lower than the boiling point (90 degrees instead of 100 degrees). Specifically, through a pressure chamber, the water evaporates with a process that is so energetic, but not too much, and then the process of steam condensation Through a small compressor that brings water from the gaseous state to the liquid one. And it is between these two phases that the accumulated dirt is “extracted” and deposited. Part of the technologies derive from the world of air conditioning/heat pumps, others from that of water treatment.
Everything is flanked by a smell control system because the station collects the solid particles of dirt in the dust tank. In short, if when we open the dirty water container to empty it (on traditional washing robots) we are with a foul -smelling bottom to clean by hand (that of the photo that follows), with S10 ultra of 3i this does not happen. The boredom of filling and emptying the tanks is avoided and the process is without smells.

Is the water used hygienic?
Yes, because the distillation process takes place at a molecular level and, in addition, there is an ionizer and a carbon filter bar. It may seem counter-intuitive, but a robot of this type is clearly more hygienic, with the roller that is constantly sprayed with clean water (even if recycled) and detergent compared to the robots that use the counter-transfers and that are not washed continuously, but only when every totally square meters are back at the base, depending on the settings.

Test: how it cleans
During the two weeks of tests, 3i S10 Ultra confirmed the Excellent performance roller washing robots, better (on average) than those with counter -transfers. Too bad that S10 Ultra does not have the same precision in moving that they have smaller robots and/or more mature brands. Eureka in roller himself, the Eureka with counter -transfers or the last Roborock that we have tried, are able to move much closer to the edges, around the chairs and, in general, seem to demonstrate greater familiarity with navigating at home, even in the presence of obstacles.
This translates into a roller that is yes extendablebut does not perfectly make the thread on the windows (which deceive the sensors if open) and to some objects, frustrating – in part – its advantage over the products without extendable roller. It must be said, however, that the project is relatively young, and a firmware update could increase the intelligence of the robot, while with the walls and regular furniture there are no problems and the roller goes on flush.
On the suction capacity Nothing to complain about: the company declares 13,000 PA, and in practice it behaves well both with the finer particles and with the larger ones.

The impressive also the self -cleaning capacity: The Antigroviglio system works very well and we did not find hair after the month of testing, they were all over in the dust bag. The brushes were also without hair and, in general, the robot needed very little maintenance. By assuming a monthly check, to be done on all robots to make them last over time, the effort is really minimal.
Being equipped with recognition of dirt And obstacles, S10 Ultra is able to make more past where it finds accumulations of dust, crumbs, liquids or other. Furthermore There is the IA to recognize objects and avoid themso as not to tangle in the chargers and cables, also avoiding shoes, pets and so on …

How much does it cost
Being the first (and unique at the moment) which also integrates a dehumidifier and a real water recycling system, the price is not all in all excessive: € 1,499, € 1,399 on discount on Amazon for a product in line with the competitors. Roborock’s top of the range will also have the arm for the socks, but it costs more.
In short, for the characteristics it has, and for the fact that it really works and does not have the typical defects of the “first” to arrive, S10 Ultra is a recommended product for those who have the specific need to want a product that washes the floors daily and make us “forget” maintenance.
