From 7 to 17 August 2026 Amanda Knox will perform a stand-up comedy show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The show is called Cartwheel (somersault, in English) and will satirically tell the trial process he had to face, from the conviction to the definitive solution in the trial for the murder of Meredith Kercher.
What the show is about, the Kerchers’ lawyer: “Deplorable”
On the occasion of the presentation of his show, Knox granted an interview to the newspaper TheTelegraph. The title takes up the news rumors spread during the investigations according to which the American had done some somersaults at the police station. “I’ve never done a somersault. I’ve done the splits,” the woman later emphasized to a journalist. The show’s plot will revolve around Knox’s attempts to explain the trauma of his wrongful imprisonment to his children.
Francesco Maresca, the lawyer for Meredith Kercher’s family, did not take Knox’s initiative well. According to the Daily Mailwas judged to be “offensive and deplorable” towards the memory of the victim.
Knox has a completely different opinion: “Meredith was a very intelligent and refined girl, but she was also fun and playful. We listened to music together and went out dancing. She liked to have fun.” According to the American, her friend “would appreciate this comedy show of mine, because it deals with what it means to be a young woman and it’s sincere. I think Meredith would find it really funny!”.
