Apple AirTag: here is the new function of the tracking system

With the new iOS 18.2 update, Apple could make available a new function regardingAirTags. These devices allow you to locate objects associated with them via the “Where is” app. They have seen some success after launching in 2021 and are very popular especially among those who travel often and fear losing their belongings.

Many, for example, use the AirTag on their luggage, because in this way it is much easier to find it in case of loss via the tracking system on the Apple network. According to some rumorsin the next available update the Cupertino company will make a new one available function which will enhance the device.

According to what was reported by MacRumorsthere would be some news for the “Where is” app connected to the AirTag. In essence, it would be possible to have the location of the lost AirTags and the link sent it should be shareable. This step could really help. Previously the information was transmitted only to the owner of the device, but it will become shareable then, for example, the police or the airline that lost our luggage will be able to use it. The link will be valid for about a week and will expire independently if the object is found.

To use this function, simply open the application and indicate the tracked object, then simply choose the “Share the position of the object” option and create a link to make available. Obviously the other person will have to be in possession of a Apple device.

While waiting to hear about this new function for Apple tracking devices, there is already talk of when they will be released AirTag2.

The new version, according to what was reported by journalist Mark Gurman, could be launched in the first half of 2025. Very little is known yet, but everything suggests that the new devices will allow even more accurate localization. All you have to do is wait and see for yourself.
