The new year for fans of technology at home, which can save us time and effort, begins with a first surprise, arriving from Las Vegas. Even before the opening of the Consumer Electronics Show, the start-of-year fair where many brands present their new products of the year, Roborock has lifted the veil on the new models for 2025. Apart from the predictable improvements, one of these new robot vacuum cleaner has an unexpected novelty: an extendable arm to remove small objects from your path. Let’s see in detail what are the innovations presented by the Chinese brand and how they could help us make household work easier.
A useful and intelligent arm
During the event at the Venetian Expo, Roborock presents the new line of robot vacuum cleanerappliances without compromises in terms of innovative solutions. The most spectacular model is certainly the Saros Z70what Roborock calls the “first mass-produced robot” to be equipped with a retractable five-axis robotic arm. The OmniGrip arm allows the Z70 to clean unreachable areas and, above all, move small objects such as socks, slippers weighing no more than 300 grams to continue its cleaning cycle. The fact that it is contained in a chassis of only 7.98 centimeters in height is certainly a surprise, as is the fact that it will be made smarter with software updates.
In addition to the arm, the StarSight autonomous navigation system has a series of sensors and cameras capable of mapping the surfaces of your home with greater precision than traditional laser systems, making the cleaning process increasingly effective. Combined with the multi-function dock, the Saros Z70 It feels like a big step up from previous models. If the system that allows you to use cameras to take photos of your pets is a curiosity, the ability to control it with your voice via voice assistants is much more interesting.
Dates and prices? Not right away
If the Z70 is very spectacular, most of the innovations of Roborock they are also present on the other models of the Saros line, the 10 and 10R. Until now only available on Asian markets, they are equally thin, they are also equipped with the StarSight 2.0 automatic navigation system, which will allow it to recognize and avoid 108 different obstacles. Also present in this case is the VertiBeam system, designed to allow the robot to avoid lateral obstacles through the use of a large vertical laser mounted above the front sensor.
The AdaptiLift system, which allows the robot to raise or lower by 10mm, could be useful in the case of long-pile carpets or thresholds up to 4 centimeters high. Roborock ensures that it serves to avoid dragging dust with the robot, improving air circulation and promoting the drying of floors. The multifunction dock will make cleaning the robot decidedly smarter, as it is able to recharge it only enough to finish cleaning, waiting for a more convenient time slot to bring the battery back to maximum.
The basic model of the Saros line, however, relies on a more traditional navigation system, the Lidar, however made more precise by the addition of an extra laser to avoid scratches and re-enter inside the chassis when it has to enter tight spaces . Purchased with the RockDock Ultra 2.0 and equipped with enough strength to efficiently vacuum and wash your surfaces, the Saros 10 will be an attractive choice for users. As for prices and availability, Roborock announced that the prices and availability of the Saros line in Italy will be communicated later, but certainly within the first half of 2025.
Hi-tech vacuum cleaners and washing machines
The Chinese brand has also thought of a new range of vacuum and wet & dry floor cleaners. The F25 series is equipped with some intelligent solutions, such as the so-called FlatReach Deep Cleaning, a 180° degree articulation that allows you to completely flatten the vacuum cleaner and reach the dirt even under particularly low furniture. These devices then have an innovative roller, with two scrapers which should serve to prevent animal hair or hair from getting tangled while reducing streaks on surfaces.
One of the other innovations in the smart home field presented at Ces is the new Zeo line dedicated to washer-dryer intelligent. Roborock is also about to launch the Zeo One, Zeo Lite and Zeo Mini models in Italy, washing machines that share the Zeo-cycle drying technology: according to the Chinese brand, the use of zeolite to absorb water vapor should help protect delicate fabrics. This patented technology from Roborock allows you to dry clothes at just 50 degrees centigrade, which also helps reduce electricity consumption.
While the F25 vacuum cleaners will be launched in Italy in the first half of 2025, the Zeo line will currently remain exclusive to some European and Asian markets. We will let you know if these smart washer-dryers will also arrive in Italy in the coming months.
