At the restaurant with his wife and daughter he kills them by shooting “many shots”

Three people have died after a shooting in Linz, Austria, in front of a traditional Lüftner inn, in the Urfahr district. According to the first information released by the Austrian newspaper Kronean elderly man opened fire on his wife and daughter, killing them, before taking his own life before the eyes of guests, residents and passers-by.

It happened around 1.30pm today, Thursday 7 May. Police and emergency services attended the scene. Some witnesses said they heard numerous gunshots.

“A lot of shots were fired,” he said Krone an 84-year-old woman who was inside the inn at the time of the shooting. The owner, according to her story, immediately locked everything up. For about half an hour, patrons were unable to leave the restaurant. When they were allowed to exit, the only clear route was on the right side of the building. On the other side, in the parking lot, were the three bodies.
