Some bold commentators had nicknamed him “gas bag”roughly translated as “gas bag”. A not particularly brilliant but tenacious gentleman. The race for a presidential encore for Joe Biden, the “gas bag” that the US really doesn’t need at this historical moment, ended with half of America begging him to withdraw.
Eventually he gave in to prayers and gave up.aware that he had more than half of the Democratic electorate (and the party itself) against him. The only ones who seemed to be rooting for him were his ineffable wife Jill and the inconsistent Kamala Harrisabsolutely nothing else in institutional dress. Harris herself would seem to have to replace him at the last mile of the race, or at least that’s how it should be if the great Democratic Convention in August doesn’t crown a different candidate to send to lose the elections. Or maybe to win them considering that the glue that binds the entire American progressive electorate is certainly not the political proposals but the hatred towards Trump.
The beautiful Gavin Newsongovernor of California, secretly hoped to be chosen as Biden’s vice president; he was preferred to the inconsistent Kamala, just to keep the minorities happy. Even the governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmerdoes not seem to want to deprive Kamala of the pleasure of being defeated. The last serious challenger of Donald Trump It was probably Elizabeth Warren, brilliant, Rooseveltian, nicknamed “the sheriff of Wall Street” for her inflexibility during the bank recovery plan in the aftermath of the 2008 crisis. However, she was not very empathetic.
Self in the democratic house there is no possible challenger in sight for the tycoon, a new victory for Trump seems obvious, especially in the aftermath of the failed attack. The less than stellar state of health of the current American president has been known for some time but no one has spoken out to publicly express any disappointment about Biden’s choice to run for a second term. The merciless performance during the debate at the CNN he has illuminated what no one wanted to see; an old man, distant, clearly unable to fulfill his task. But hatred towards a political opponent, who today becomes an enemy, can be so visceral that it makes one blind.
And so, in order not to see Trump in the White House again, we are willing to accept anything, even an intolerable decline for the leader of the most important country in the world. Now, State reasons prevailed over short-sightedness. The cry of supplication has become the siren of a failed conclusion. After more than 40 years at the center of American politics, Joe Biden leaves behind only unpleasant memories and depressing images. A bit like his presidency.
