On the occasion of World Food DayBolton renews its commitment to a healthier and more sustainable food future. With an approach based on science, awareness and researchthe company supports the evolution of the seafood sector by promoting accessible and responsible nutritional models.
Through the Food Business UnitBolton has activated collaborations with universities and research institutes to learn more about value of fish in the modern diet. The results are surprising: according to recent studies, consume 150 grams of fish twice a week can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease by up to 10%. Furthermore, canned fish proves to be a powerful ally against different types of tumors and even in prevention of cognitive decline and Alzheimer’swith a risk reduction of up to 30%.
Not only that. Research shows that the Canned fish has the same nutritional quality as fresh fishwith the addition of greater convenience and accessibility. A discovery that changes the perception of an often underestimated food and elevates it to a pillar of daily health.
To further explore these themes, Bolton has funded four industrial doctoral scholarshipsin collaboration with Italian universities, on key areas such as: fish consumption during pregnancy, the economic and social impact of canned tuna, its sustainability and role in balanced dietary models.
