More and more rumors are starting to circulate on the web about what the characteristics of the iPhone 17although before arriving at their official debut on the market we will still have to wait until at least September next year. Apple apparently intends to include the same number of models in the range, while still modifying their typology.
The iPhone Plus, for example, is expected to be supplanted by the variant Air/Slimso called due to the characteristics of compactness and lightness that should distinguish the model: due to the use of electronic components made specifically for it, and thanks to new technologies applied for the production of the screen, the smartphone in question will be particularly thin.
What will its technical characteristics be? As anticipated, reference is made to rumors which reveal, despite the compact design and unusual lightness, top-of-the-range performance thanks to the presence of the new and powerful chipset Apple A19which will allow the device to have superior processing capacity and optimized energy consumption: the provision of 8 GB of RAM will also keep the operating system’s performance high.
One of the main interests of the engineers with iPhone 17 Air is to create an extremely light and thin model, for which an equally compact photographic system is expected: the hypothesis circulating is that of a device equipped with asingle opticand no more than the two or three that would be expected for the Pro model whose legacy it will take up. Even the components of the photographic sector will therefore have to meet the characteristics of lightness, being thin enough to fit into the body of the smartphone. As regards the front camera, it will be equipped with a 24 megapixel resolution, capable of taking very high definition shots.
And as for it screen? The rumors anticipate that Apple will use a new technology known by the acronym Tddi, which stands for Touch and Display Driver Integration: it involves the insertion of the display and the touch sensor in a single layer, so this should result in an evident reduction in the thickness of the component, in harmony with the rest of the device. However, image quality will not be sacrificed, given that reference is made to a high resolution, higher than current ones, and the possibility of benefiting from great energy savings.
The Oled display, presumably 6.4 inches, will support the technology ProMotionwith a 120 Hz refresh rate and a deeper black range. Finally, according to analysts, the device will be equipped with a more resistant anti-reflective protective layer than that present in older iPhone models.
Sore point of the Air model
it could be that of the cost, which is expected to be high due to the characteristics of the components, even higher than that of the iPhone 17 Pro Max which should instead be equipped with a more performing photographic sector.
