No one more than us adheres with conviction to Giuseppe Conte’s appeal to all meet in the square in Rome today – Friday was already occupied by Landini – to demand freedom of the press and show solidarity with Sigfrido Ranucci. «Long live free information!» shouted the Five Star leader as he launched the initiative.
Obviously solidarity with Ranucci is sacrosanct on everyone’s part. And also the proximity to one of the most discredited categories in the country. Today in Italy more journalists are sold than newspapers. But above all we feel that total solidarity is necessary for their sudden but praiseworthy change of position – to Conte, to the grillini and to Beppe Grillo, someone who told journalists «I would eat you for the sake of vomiting». But it could also be mentioned, without mentioning the communicative filth of the Conte government during the pandemic, when Grillo prohibited his people from hosting TV appearances or giving interviews, or when the Five Star Movement drew up banning lists for unwanted journalists, or when the Grillini hierarchs defined journalists: “Infamous and executioners of freedom of thought”, “Mafiosi, buffoons, corrupt, counterfeiters”. “Frou frou idiots with mental dysentery.” «Pen dealers and whores». «Lower jackals».
Animals that our thoughts go to when we see someone pounce on the attack on a journalist just for electoral purposes.
The journalists must have lost it a long time ago. But once upon a time there was more dignity on the part of politicians even in demonstrating that they had none.
