The former Municipal Palace of Pietrasanta hosts from 21 July to 18 August 2024 “Dedicate to Music”an exhibition project conceived and curated by Barbara Giovannetti which involves some fashion photographers and DJs that dialogue between photography, music, art and design. A new exhibition format that invites visitors to sensory experiences, in a game of artistic contaminations. The exhibition, organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Pietrasanta, involves some fashion photographers: Andrea Varani, Lorenzo Marcucci, Alberto Setti, Annalisa Ceccotti, Carlo Gianni and Mattia De Nardis who were invited through their works to express their concept of music.

The protagonists, coming from very different places and with very different professional experiences, created the works by letting themselves inspired by the chosen musical form. They were in fact asked to select DJs and music producers who are similar to them, whose music is played in the rooms via piped music. The visitor is therefore able to move between the rooms Rooms of Memory of the former Municipal Palace of Pietrasanta, admiring the photos of the six artists and getting involved in the music. During the exhibition, sample tracks of each DJ, giving the possibility of a global listening while viewing the works. Those who want to immerse themselves totally in the perception of each photographer can enter each room and via a QR code listen to the entire playlist with headphones.

The exhibition project also includes the display of some works in each room design pieces. For the occasion, there were also four galleries involved between Pietrasanta and Florence: Cantierenove – Cultural Association, Deodato Arte, Futura Art Gallery and Street Levels Gallery, to represent their “artistic vision” and visitors will be able to find works of art inside the rooms.

The world of fashion is influenced by the most current and significant phenomena in the fields of art, design, entertainment, music and communication.
The format proposed in Pietrasanta absorbs the main themes and extends their influence in photography. The aim of the curator Barbara Giovannetti is in fact to eliminate the barriers between the different disciplines.
