WhatsApp, new rules for accessing the service from Monday: what changes

In the famous Meta instant messaging app it is possible to implement a procedure capable of allowing the user to identify the exact position of one of your contacts: here's how Whatsappthanks to a simple message received in chat, can help us obtain this information if necessary.

To access this function it will be sufficient to start from a message received and there will be no need to show off particular skills in the IT field, on the contrary. Thanks to the above-mentioned message you will need to connect to the online portal “scanner.io“, register and log in.

Once these preliminary phases have been completed, it will be possible to access the area in question: a screen will appear in which you will have to click on the central button and then on the one that says “Position with link”. Once this is done, you can call the link obtained as you see fit, even without using a specific name and then click on the large green “Generate my link” button. That's it, since all you have to do is paste the link you get onto one chat of WhatsApp and then send it. When the interested person reads the message by clicking on the link received, it will be possible to obtain the precise location where the contact is located.

As anticipated, this is a very simple and intuitive procedure, but obviously the success of the attempt is geolocation it will depend on the actions of the friend or relative to whom the message generated on the “scanner.io” portal was sent: only if the latter clicks on the link forwarded in the chat will it be possible to obtain the desired information.

Obviously, since this is a function that can easily violate the privacy of the individual in question, it is best to use it only and exclusively in cases of extreme necessity. In normal situations, in fact, it is sufficient to ask the interested party himself where he is located, explicitly obtaining his consent to provide the information.

These are always the most controversial cases, and we must always move with extreme caution when technology, no matter how borderless it appears, risks exceeding the limits of common sense.
