A 15-year-old girl was arrested by Turkish police for the murder of a student at Imam Hatip Şeyh Şamil middle school in the Başakşehir neighborhood of Istanbul. According to what has emerged so far, the young woman entered the institute wearing her school uniform. The perpetrator of the attack would attend the high school located in the same neighborhood.
The victim and the injured
Hurryetone of the main Turkish newspapers, writes that the suspect, FM, attacked eight students with the knife she was holding. The injured are aged between 10 and 13 years old: all have been transferred to hospital, some of them have minor injuries. The victim, ESB, was 10 years old.
Education Minister Yusuf Tekin explained what happened: “A student, who attended another school, wore the uniform of that school and went to the middle school, where she attacked our children with a knife. We learned about it a little while ago. We have a student seriously injured. We lost a student. May Allah have mercy on her. May she rest in peace. I offer my condolences to her family.”
The Interior Ministry has instructed the Chief Inspector of Public Administration and the Chief Inspector of Police to open an investigation into the case.
