A new feature is coming soon on WhatsAppwhich has always been committed to trying to offer an ever-better service to its users, especially with regard to the practicality of the platform and the protection of privacy. Apparently, the novelty will concern the management of messages, especially those received from unknown senders. This is an aspect that should not be underestimated, especially in a period in which online scams and deceptions are almost the order of the day.
Blocked messages
According to the latest information circulating on the net, the new feature WhatsApp is working on includes blocking messages from unknown senders. Content that comes from unknown numbers is actually a problem, as it can be a source of spam or scams. WhatsApp has taken this matter seriously, so much so that this update is aimed at ensuring greater security.
In practice, it will be possible block messages arriving from numbers that we have not registered in the address book. To activate the option, just go to the Advanced Section of the Privacy menu, going through Settings. Apparently the block will concern those messages that arrive from numbers/accounts unknown with a very high frequency. Therefore, not all messages from unknown numbers will be stopped (after all, some messages arriving from numbers not in the address book may still be important for us).
Protecting privacy
The ultimate goal, as we have said, is to protect the privacy of users, who are often targeted by criminals and scammers on the main online platforms, which have now become “hunting grounds”. The hope is that this new feature that WhatsApp developers are working on will serve to block the spam more insistent, as well as the various attempts at deception.
At the moment the function is not yet available to all users, as it is still in the testing phase.
Only a few owners can experience it. Androidwho have received the beta version 2.24.20.16. Soon, if all goes as hoped, the option will be extended to the rest of the users of the famous instant messaging platform.
