Apple presented iPhone Duo, the first foldable iPhone. When opened, it is the thinnest iPhone ever, with a 7.6″ internal display that offers plenty of space to view content, play games and multitask. When closed, the 5.4″ external display offers a viewing surface equal to 90% of that of the iPhone 18 Pro, in a compact and ultra-portable design.
Below are features, news and price.
Two displays
iPhone Duo has the largest iPhone display ever, in a completely new design. When closed, it is comfortable to use with one hand and fits easily in your pocket, with a 5.4″ Super Retina Xdr external display. When open, it has a 7.6″ Super Retina The displays are always-on, with ProMotion technology and 3,000 nits of peak brightness outdoors.
The new FaceTime camera sits behind the display, invisible when not in use. Later this year, iPhone Duo will be compatible with Apple Pencil with USB-C. Touch ID is integrated into the side button, to allow you to always unlock the iPhone Duo in the same way, both when open and closed. Furthermore, Camera Control is also present, to quickly open the camera.
Designed to last over time

It is made of grade 5 titanium, with a mirror finish, 3D printed hinge cover and contrasting micro-sandblasting. The back of the iPhone Duo is in Ceramic Shield and the front in Ceramic Shield 2, three times more scratch-resistant than the previous generation. Furthermore, iPhone Duo also has IP68 water, splash and dust resistance. The hinge is made up of over 100 components designed to control opening and closing with maximum precision, and support the central part of the display, ensuring a uniform and smooth surface.
The internal display is designed to withstand the rigors of everyday use. The surface is protected by an anti-scratch coating and a nanotexture covering layer, made with a special polymer that offers up to 40% greater rigidity than other materials used in the sector. Above and below the foldable display panel is a layer of high-strength glass. And the titanium plate at the base makes everything even more robust.
Cameras

Apple’s new smartphone houses a 48MP Fusion main camera with optical quality digital 2x telephoto lens. Then we find the 48MP Fusion ultra-wide angle, also present in the iPhone 18 Pro models. The second camera allows wider shots and allows you to take macro photos, while the Center Stage front camera changes orientation automatically for photos and videos, so it is not necessary to rotate the iPhone to take selfies in landscape format. Improved Photo Styles, with new texture and grain controls, let you further customize the final result and have even more creative control over your content.
The dual-display foldable design opens doors to new creative possibilities for photos and videos that were previously impossible on any other iPhone.

- With Smart Shooting, no more racing against the self-timer countdown and no more lost moments behind the lens. The on-device AI models powered by the A20 Pro chip analyze the scene in real time to understand when subjects are ready, and then take the photo automatically.
- For selfies, you can use the high-resolution rear camera system and simultaneously preview on the external screen.
- With Duo Preview, the external display shows a real-time preview of the shot, so people being photographed can choose the perfect framing and pose, and guide the shot.
- Animation for children plays animated images from Peanuts on the external display to attract the attention of girls and boys and make them look in the right direction.
- With Duo FaceTime, people who are with you can join a video call on the external display, so everyone can share the moment without having to crowd around a single screen.
The iPhone Duo’s 48MP Fusion main camera lets you record 4K video in Dolby Vision at 120 fps, and create slow-motion effects. Time-lapse mode supports 4K resolution with Dolby Vision Hdr, and to record longer videos, just place iPhone Duo on a surface, no tripod required.
A revamped iOS experience

iOS 27 is designed specifically for iPhone Duo, to offer all-new ways to interact with iPhone but with the same intuitive and familiar user experience as always. Lock screen controls, the Dock on the Home screen, navigation and app controls are now positioned to the side to optimize vertical space for content. When iPhone Duo is open, the display shows two Home screens with Today View on the left side, a vertically scrolling list of customizable widgets. The status bar is enriched with a dynamic circular interface located in the corner of the screen, designed to show the most important information such as Wi-Fi connection, cellular signal and remaining charge. The Dynamic Island has also been redesigned to fit vertically to the external and internal profile of the displays, and expands to show real-time alerts and activities. iOS adapts perfectly to the flexibility of using the iPhone Duo, content resizes when opened or closed, automatically reorients when the device is turned sideways, and switches to the appropriate display when it is flipped over.
The large display significantly boosts productivity, allowing you to multitask thanks to new multitasking features. For the first time ever on iPhone, you can use Split View and open two apps side by side. The user can also quickly switch between apps, open two independent windows of the same app, such as Safari, and store combinations to recall later.
Third-party apps like Netflix, Zoom and Slack already take advantage of the foldable design to deliver immersive experiences that make the most of the large display and new ways to use iPhone Duo.

StandBy mode on iPhone Duo has an edge. Simply place the iPhone Duo down to activate StandBy mode, both on the external and internal display, even when the device is not charging. It will turn into a digital photo frame, a space for widgets, a clock or alarm clock and much more.
Latest generation Apple Intelligence

Apple Intelligence makes apps smarter and more functional. For example, you can improve the composition of a photo after it’s taken with the now improved Spatial Reframe, Extend, and Cleanup tools. The “Notify me” feature in Safari allows you to keep an eye on web pages for any changes, such as changes in the availability or price of a product, and always stay up to date with the latest updates.
New A20 Pro chip
Thanks to the power of the A20 Pro chip, the same as the iPhone 18 Pro models, and an advanced thermal management system, iPhone Duo offers constant performance up to 35% higher than iPhone 17 Pro. The new chip package, inspired by Apple’s M series chips, connects A20 Pro directly to the custom-designed vapor chamber, allowing heat to be better dissipated.
The 6-core CPU is up to 20% faster than the A19 Pro chip. The 7-core GPU is up to 40% faster and more power-efficient, and the two 16-core Neural Engines provide double the computing power for running AI models on-device. The A20 Pro chip also has 50% more unified memory bandwidth and is made with cutting-edge 2-nanometer technology.
Autonomy

iPhone Duo features a high-energy battery on both sides, optimizing capacity and making effective use of internal space. Thanks to the synergy between the Apple chip and the new energy management algorithms, the two batteries work as one, guaranteeing up to 31 hours of video playback on the internal screen, up to 44 hours on the external one and up to 24 hours of use per charge using both displays equally. And with fast charging, iPhone Duo reaches up to 50% charge in about 20 minutes or up to 50% in about 30 minutes when charged wirelessly with a MagSafe or Qi2 power adapter.
Wireless connections
iPhone Duo only works with eSim worldwide. N1, an Apple-designed wireless networking chip, supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread technologies; while C2, the next-generation AI-powered cellular modem system, optimizes the quality and reliability of the cellular connection.
