Green Bill - il Giornale

An IT friend of ours, who we obviously refuse to believe, always tells us that Bill Gates is an absolute phenomenon. Early in his career, he first created viruses for operating systems; and then he sold you antiviruses. This does not mean, however, that he has thought of doing the same thing with vaccines, of course.

Anyway. Bill Gates turned 70 – by the way «Congratulations!» – and he is the most splendid and envied among the kids who “started from their home garage” and then conquered the world (all billionaires always start from their home garage, then if you have a mother who sits on the board of directors of United Way, a friend of the president of IBM, for goodness sake it doesn’t hurt, but the important thing is to start from a garage). And well, in short, Bill Gates, celebrated by the newspapers as the entrepreneur who changed our lives and the great philanthropist and we confess that we have never understood the difference between philanthropists and oligarchs, except that the latter, bad, live in Russia and the former, good, in America – for his birthday he gave himself a public confession.

And after years spent polluting our consciences about the climate apocalypse, and after billions wasted and economies disintegrated, he said that we must not go to extremes, that alarmism about climate change is excessive and that humanity will not become extinct, on the contrary it will progress increasingly richer and happier.

But we didn’t listen to him before; much less now. Mr. Gates is probably just diversifying investments. From green to some other new philanthropic nonsense.
