Honor 400 Lite is a model with a price accessible with quality that make it ideal for those who do not want to spend much but have design, lightness and some top market functions. In short: concrete (in the package to find smartphones, pin to extract the SIM and USB-C/USB cable, but not the charger) and, in some ways, interesting. Here is the impression after the test.
Design and materials
The design is elegant, even if someone (more than someone in fact) will find it similar to the iPhone. But so much: it is difficult in the world of smartphones to find something new, and then in the end Steve Jobs has taught that taking inspiration from what works is not a sin. So: squared shapes, flat edges, Dynamic Island Honor style. But also subtlety (only 7.3 mm), lightness precisely (171 grams) and convenience of use, even with one hand.
Honor 4000 Lite also distinguishes the Button chamber, the side keyboard also on the iPhone and which in this case is used to open the camera (and, if necessary, scan the QR code) or to access the Gemini assistant: in this market band is certainly something more.
Display and performance
The 6.7 -inch Amoled display is one of the best characteristics: live, deep black colors, excellent fluidity thanks to the 120Hz of refresh rate. The peak brightness declared is 3,500 Nits: however, it is the “typical” brightness and not the one we see in full screen. But in any case in the sun the images are seen well. It is not a product designed for gaming, but you can have fun anyway.
The MediaTek’s Dimensity 7025 processor and the 8 GB of RAM allows the smartphone to behave fluidly, albeit with some minimal and tolerable hitch. The memory is 256 GB (not expandable), which are enough for not having clogging problems. The 400 Lite is also IP65 certified: it resists splashes and dust (but do not put it in water)
The battery, on the other hand, is a strong point: with its 5.230mAh you arrive at the end of the day with almost half the full tank. The recharge is not very fast (35W, which means about an hour and a half to fill the maximum), but there is an intelligent system that protects the battery over time, blocking if you want the charge to 80%.
Software and use
On board Honor 4000 Lite we find Android 15 with updated patches (for now) in February. The interface is: fluid, clean and with Gemini that works well. Messages notifications refer directly to the conversations and not before to the reference app, a detail that may or may not like. The good news is certainly that the smartphone also supports the Esim, however the rest, however, does not allow the blocking of spam calls and the recordings of the phone calls. But it is not new in products of this kind.
The photographic sector consists of three cameras on the back and one for selfies: the main one of 108 MPX produces excellent quality shots of the day and good enough when it becomes darker (with video support up to 1080 pixels). The others can be improved: the digital zoom is 10x, the front one for selfies is average; A little lack of the rear wide angle. In this case you could do better. Finally the audio: mono and therefore good for YouTube.
Price and final considerations
The list of list of Honor 400 Lite (in the colors Marss Green, Velvet Black and Velvet Gray) is 299 euros, but if you sail a little in the online stores it is already possible to find it at 50
euro less. At this cost, among the positive things we can certainly see the display, the presence of the Button and Esim room, the battery. The photographic sector, on the other hand, will not be able to satisfy avid creators.
