On the occasion of World Heart Day (today 29 September), Huawei announced the availability of the Watch D3 in Italy. Latest model of the D series capable of measuring blood pressure directly from the wrist.
A double-layer cuff is integrated into the strap, which is silently inflated by a micropump during measurement. The mechanical airbag inflates around the wrist and a high-precision sensor detects systolic and diastolic pressure values through the oscillometric method, the same as arm devices. Smartwatch certified as a medical device according to the European MDR regulation, such as sphygmomanometers for home use. For reliable measurements, you need to be seated, at rest, with your pulse at heart level and without speaking.
Measurements can also be carried out over a 24 hour period (pressure holter). Regular intervals can be set during the day, while at night the measurements take place automatically every half hour. Furthermore, with the D3 measurements can be taken before and immediately after training.
Single measurements, Holter and long-term data are collected in the Huawei Health app and can be easily shared with our doctor and a relative/caregiver.
In addition to blood pressure, the D3 records electrocardiogram, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) and heart rate. Obviously, there is no shortage of GPS and the traditional measurements present in every smartwatch such as steps, calories, etc.
With shapes similar to a traditional smartwatch, the new D3 model features a thinner and more ergonomic design, designed to offer greater comfort during daily use. The case is 11.3 millimeters thick and weighs approximately 40 grams without the strap. The dimensions of the band containing the air sleeve have also been reduced.
Smartwatch with large 1.92-inch Amoled display, with resolution of 408 x 480 pixels and declared peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Furthermore, the microphone and speaker allow you to answer calls directly from the watch. Watch D3 has a declared battery life of 6 days, is compatible with over 100 sports modes and also includes sleep monitoring and digital payments.
Available in three different colors (black, white and sand), Watch D3 works with Android and iPhone smartphones.
