The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, addressed the Iranian people directly with a video published on all channels. Those who live in Israel let us know that it is a very important discussion and that it could be a prelude to “something” big. After the war in Gaza, the attacks in Yemen and the heavy blow dealt to Hezbollah, with the death of Nasrallah, all attention is now turned to Iran which has seen its policy in the Middle East crumble. Is Bibi hoping for a popular uprising of Iranians against the Ayatollahs?
Below is the translated speech of the Israeli prime minister.
“I talk a lot about the leaders of Iran. Yet at this crucial moment, I want to address you, the Iranian people. I want to do it directly, without filters, without intermediaries.
Every day, you see a regime that subjugates youmakes fiery speeches about the defense of Lebanon, about the defense of Gaza. Yet every day, that regime plunges our region deeper into darkness and war.
Every day, their puppets are eliminated. Ask Mohammed Deif. Ask Nasrallah.
Imagine if all the money the regime wasted on nuclear weapons and foreign wars were invested in your children’s education, in improving your health care, in building your nation’s infrastructure, water, sewer, all the other things you need. Imagine it.
But you know one simple thing: the tyrants of Iran don’t care about your future.
But yes to you.
When Iran is finally free, and that time will come much sooner than people think, everything will be different. Our two ancient peoples, the Jewish people and the Persian people will finally be at peace. Our two countries, Israel and Iran, will be at peace. When that day comes, the terrorist network that the regime has built on five continents will be bankrupt, dismantled.
Iran will prosper like never before. Global investments. Mass tourism. Brilliant technological innovation based on the extraordinary talents that exist within Iran. Doesn’t that sound better than endless poverty, repression and war?
From Qom to Esfahan, from Shiraz to Tabriz, there are tens of millions of good and decent people with thousands of years of history behind them and a bright future ahead of them. Don’t let that a small group of fanatical theocrats destroy your hopes and dreams.
You deserve better. Your children deserve better. The whole world deserves better. I know you don’t support the rapists and murderers of Hamas And Hezbollahbut your leaders do. You deserve more.
The Iranian people should know: Israel is with you. May we together experience a future of prosperity and peace.”
