Insta360 has announced the X6, its new flagship 360° camera with 8K resolution. Below is news, features and price.
Image quality
The X6 captures more light than any previous X-series camera. Sony’s custom 1/1.1″ square sensors deliver 1-inch-equivalent 360° images, with 33% more sensor area than the X5 and approximately four times the amount of light captured per frame.
Behind the sensors lies a triple AI chip: a 3.3GHz 4nm 8-core flagship processor paired with two dedicated image processing chips. Together, they offer 500% more computing power than the X5, a 106% higher clock speed, and 35% lower power consumption. The result translates into sharper details, cleaner colors and effective noise reduction even in the dark. A new low-light mode helps reduce flicker and make the most of night scenes, while AdaptiveTone 2.0 measures light from each lens individually and captures two exposures per frame for wider dynamic range.
The X6 is also the first 360° camera with native Dolby Vision. 10-bit video camera, with over 1.07 billion recordable colors.
3 in 1 camera
The X6 is a 360° camera, subject tracking gimbal camera, and single-lens action camera, and switches between modes with a simple tap. The X6 captures everything around you in native 8K at 50fps, so you can come back later and get the best angles from any direction.
InstaFrame 2.0 instantly locks onto subjects and tracks people, pets and objects in the frame, giving you 4K video without the need for editing.
Finally, you can switch to single-lens mode and shoot like a traditional action camera at up to 5K at 60 fps.
Over 100 accessories

The X6 is compatible with over 100 accessories covering every need, from everyday shooting to underwater, motorsport, cycling and long-term shooting. All accessories connect via the same magnetic mounting ecosystem, which remains compatible with the X5, X4 Air and Ace mounts.
Among the flagship products of the range we find the X6 Power Selfie Stick for 180 minutes of extra battery life and a fast charging case with double battery and double SD slot.
Riders can benefit from a dedicated kit with holographic speed overlay on the dashboard, dashcam mode with automatic loop recording and automatic license plate blurring. Cyclists can count on stat overlay support for Garmin, Apple Watch and other devices.
The Invisible Dive Case Pro represents a significant step forward from the previous generation, taking the X6 up to 60 meters without interfering with the seam, so that nothing is visible in the final footage.
Car mounts, with ¼” adapter, and electric suction mount allow the X6 to adhere to glass without permanent installation.
Hardware

The 2.32″ Oled screen reaches a brightness of 1,200 nits and allows you to view the shot easily even under direct sunlight.
The new 2,600 mAh Xtreme battery guarantees 140 minutes of 360° video recording in 8K 30 fps on a single charge, 51% more than the X5, and supports fast charging, going from 0% to 80% in just 24 minutes. The battery also works at low temperatures, down to -20°C.
The replaceable lens 2.0 is five times more scratch resistant, has a compact format ideal for travel and costs 60% less than the previous generation.
The X6 is waterproof up to 20 m without the case (IP68) and up to 60 m with the invisible Pro underwater case. It also has 47 GB of internal memory space, usable out of a total of 64 GB, so you can record without having to insert an SD card.
Audio
The X6 integrates a 360° windproof omnidirectional array of four microphones, as well as a “hidden” engine microphone, designed specifically for motorcycle filming: it reduces wind noise and highlights the roar of the engine. Intelligent sound mode analyzes your surroundings and automatically adjusts settings.
Stabilization and connectivity

FlowState stabilization and Horizon Lock 360° function promise smooth, well-aligned footage, even when the camera is moving. NFC “touch and connect” technology allows you to pair the X6 more quickly. Wi-Fi 6.0 allows you to transfer files wirelessly at a speed of 100 MB/s, while USB 3.0 reaches 450 MB/s via wire. Next-generation Bluetooth pairs in five seconds and reconnects in less than one second.
Zero editing
X6 makes the changes for you, thanks to Insta360 PanoMind. Developed in-house and trained on over 10,000 hours of footage across more than 30 scenarios, including travel, daily life, winter sports, motorcycling, diving and cycling, PanoMind is the first native AI model capable of understanding a complete spherical scene rather than a simple flat frame.
PanoMind’s automatic editing engine creates a highlight montage from footage on your camera and sends the finished video to the Insta360 app. The analysis is performed directly on the camera, rather than in the cloud, and the feature can be turned off at any time.
If you prefer to edit a video manually, Auto Edit 2.0 transforms one or more videos into a complete video with a single touch, taking care of shots, camera movements, cuts, music and transitions.
The Insta360+ cloud: backup, sharing and Moments Pro
The Insta360+ cloud service offers up to 2TB of storage and allows you to back up automatically while the X6 is charging. With X6, files uploaded to the cloud can also be reworked by Moments Pro, the new Insta360 editing tool, created with Google Gemini. Set a topic, mood, style and time frame and the program will automatically generate videos for you. While AI Director works directly on the camera and creates a ready-made montage without you having to do anything.
Price and availability
The X6 + video camera is already on sale starting from €699 for the Standard pack.
