The new move of Instagram is infuriating many of the many users on the social platform. In fact, we don't like the choice to experiment Ad Break, i.e. advertisements that are impossible to skip. Coming across one of them means being forced to watch the commercial before being able to view the contents again. Something unacceptable for many of the followers of the social platform.
Mandatory announcements coming soon
For now it's a test, but it seems that the official arrival of Ad Break is imminent. Ad Breaks can't be skippedas they say in the jargon, and will be accompanied by a countdown ranging from 3 to 5 seconds. In that period of time, users will effectively be forced to see advertising before they can continue browsing their feed. A choice of certainly an economic nature which was not at all liked by the people on social media.
Instagram, in fact, has taken the example of YouTube which, to date, has been the platform that introduced non-advertising skippable, with all due respect to the members. To avoid Ad Breaks, YouTube users only have the option of subscribing to YouTube Premium. Very different from the Meta Verified subscription for the Instagram platform, which does not allow any exemptions.
Clearly this exchange Instagram's step is causing users and influencers to worry. While users see these interruptions as a nuisance, influencers fear that those who follow them may eventually migrate to other platforms.
The reaction
At the moment the reaction of the social media population has not been encouraging. In these hours, controversy is raging on social media, from Instagram and X. “This shit will be uninstalled”is a user's comment. “Money will always be the root of all problems”adds another bitterly.
It's still: “The fall of Instagram begins“, “I'm about to start dating again instead of scrolling“, “Uninstallation mass” And “This app just keeps getting worse and worse”.
In short, the Instagram team must carefully evaluate the next moves. The risk of having to deal with a disaster it is very high.
