A few days after its release, the new operating system iOS 18 was immediately affected by a bug with significant effects; apparently, in fact, this functional software defect affects the Messages app, a very important function for users. According to what was reported, in fact, the problem would be capable of causing a real crash of the application.
iOS 18 already has a bug
It seems that the crash arrives if certain actions are performed on the phone. It is not a given, therefore, that every iPhone owner will encounter this problem. However, there is the possibility that someone will receive a message containing the very element that causes the bug. At that point, as we said, theMessages app will crash repeatedly. The crash would prevent you from using the messaging system.
But what triggers it? According to some sources, the system of sharing between users of the Apple Watch Faces. When you share your watch face in an iMessage thread, and when the recipient receives the message and tries to reply, the chat app crashes and every time you try to open the conversation, the app continues to crash. It should also be noted that this issue affects both the sender and the recipient who tries to reply.
So what to do?
The resolution of the problem
At the moment Apple has not solved the problem reported by many users. While waiting for a resolution, a first “fix” has been found to bypass the crash. It is recommended to cancel immediately the sharing chat, in which the Apple Watch face appears, but this, obviously, involves a loss of data.
The advice is to avoid sharing the dial, at least until the problem is resolved.
So we are still waiting for an update. Apparently the version iOS 18.1 It is expected in October, and by then it is hoped that Apple will have resolved any problems.
