“It is an honor to have Zelensky here with us,” Trump said receiving the Ukrainian president. “If there are American troops as security guarantees in Ukraine we will discuss it today with seven big leaders”.
“The war will end, I cannot say when, but it will end,” added the US president. “I am confident that we will solve it.”
On the possibility of a meeting with Putin and Zelensky, Trump said: “If everything is fine today, we will have a trilateral, and I think there will be reasonable possibilities to end the war when we do it”. According to Fox, however, today we will not come out of the summit with an exact date.
On the defense guarantees for Ukraine, the US President has made it known: “When it comes to security Europe is the first Ukraine defense line because they are there. But we too will help them, we will be involved”. As? It is not yet clear. However, the American president has kept specifying that the United States are not giving money to Kiev but just sell weapons to NATO who, in turn, provides them to Ukraine.
Instead, there will be no “cease the fire”, as it was hoped for a few days ago. Hypothesis, however, set after the meeting in Alaska with Putin: Trump made it known that the negotiations will continue with the ongoing fights because, explained The Donald, alternatively one of the two parts (the reference was at Ukraine) could have drawn advantages to reorganize itself.
Even on the possible transfer of territories, Trump has not unbalanced. “We will have a lasting peace in Ukraine, I hope immediately,” he explained. “The war will end, I cannot say when, but it will end: I am confident that we will solve it”.
