Five dead, including two children, and eleven injured. This is the terrible outcome of a road accident that occurred in Lice, in the province of Diyarbakır, in south-eastern Turkey.
The accident in Türkiye
A minibus carrying several members of a family heading to a ceremony overturned in the street, probably after one of the tires exploded.
“Two of our fellow citizens died at the scene of the accident,” the governor’s office explained on X, “and three others died in the hospitals where they were transported.”
Two children among the victims
The minibus was carrying members of the same family headed to Muş, in southeastern Turkey, for an engagement ceremony, when one of the tires exploded, Turkish private broadcaster NTV reported.
The driver then lost control of the vehicle, which overturned, NTV added. The victims included two children aged 4 and 10. The eleven injured, three of whom are in serious condition, were transported to hospitals in the region.
