Active noise cancellation
AirPods 5 remove up to 50% more noise than AirPods 4 thanks to a new acoustic architecture and improved computational audio algorithms. Additionally, AirPods 5 have an improved Transparency mode that makes voices and sounds in the environment more natural. “Conversation Detection” lowers the volume of multimedia content when the user begins to speak, helping them to converse more easily with those around them.

Inspired by AirPods Pro 3 and redesigned for AirPods 5, the new acoustic architecture with next-generation Adaptive Eq delivers richer, more detailed sound across an even wider range of ear shapes.
Real-time translation
“Real-time translation,” made possible by Apple Intelligence, breaks down language barriers by allowing you to communicate in other languages. Once you’ve set up the “Real-Time Translation” feature in the Translate app and downloaded your desired languages, the feature can be activated by simply pressing both earphone stems at the same time, saying “Siri, start real-time translation,” or using the Action button on iPhone. You will then begin to hear the conversation in your preferred language. Made possible by active noise cancellation and computational audio, this feature is now available on all AirPods models.
New version with wireless charging case
For those who want even more, the AirPods 5 arrive with wireless charging case. This version also comes with a pressure sensor to adjust the volume by sliding your finger up or down on the stem.
Autonomy
Battery life has also improved: thanks to the redesigned battery, you now have up to five hours of playback with active noise cancellation on a single charge, which is one hour more than the AirPods 4. And with the charging case, battery life can reach up to 22 hours total with active noise cancellation. The wireless charging case is compatible with the Apple Watch Charger, Qi-certified chargers and USB-C.
Prices and availability
The AirPods 5 can already be pre-ordered with availability starting Friday 18 September. The standard AirPods 5 are offered at €149; the model with wireless charging case can be purchased at the price of €169.
