Apple has announced the new Mac mini with the brand new M6 processor and the powerful M5 Pro on board. New model that offers significantly greater performance and even more versatility, all enclosed in an elegant compact design.

Mac mini with the new M6 chip
Mac mini with M6 can power every workflow, from everyday tasks to creative projects, AI workflows and more. The M6 chip has a 12-core CPU, with two more cores than the previous generation, and promises the world’s fastest single-thread performance. The 12-core GPU, also with two more cores than the previous generation, introduces Neural Accelerators in each core for the first time on Mac mini, resulting in up to 4x faster AI performance and up to 2x more responsive graphics compared to Mac mini with M4. New model with 16GB of unified memory as standard, which can be increased up to 32GB, and greater memory bandwidth that can reach 170 GBps.
Mac mini with M6 makes it possible:
- Up to 2x faster ray traced gaming performance in Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition compared to Mac mini with M4.
- Math operations in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets up to 2.3x faster than Mac mini with M1 and up to 1.5x faster than Mac mini with M4.
Mac mini with M5 Pro
M5 Pro has an up to 18-core CPU and an up to 20-core GPU with improved core shader and third-generation ray tracing. Thanks to Neural Accelerators in each GPU core, M5 Pro also offers significantly superior AI processing performance compared to previous Mac mini models. Mac mini with M5 Pro supports up to 64GB of unified memory with 307GBps of memory bandwidth.
Mac mini with M5 Pro makes it possible:
- Process Llm prompts in LM Studio up to 8.5x faster than Mac mini with M2 Pro and up to 4x faster than Mac mini with M4 Pro.
- Ray traced rendering in Blender up to 4.5x faster than Mac mini with M2 Pro, and up to 1.4x faster than Mac mini with M4 Pro.
Connectivity
The new Mac mini with M6 and M5 Pro now supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 technologies, as well as faster 2.5Gb Ethernet cable connectivity, with the option of up to 10Gb. On the front, it has two USB 3 compatible USB-C ports and a convenient headphone jack compatible with high impedance models. At the back, the Mac mini with M6 has three Thunderbolt 4 ports, while the Mac mini with M5 Pro has three Thunderbolt 5 ports, plus HDMI and Ethernet.
macOS 27 Golden Gate
The new Mac mini unleashes its full potential with macOS 27, arriving with new features including useful Apple Intelligence features in everyday apps, and a complete set of improvements that make the Mac even more responsive and reliable. The features you already rely on get even better, with higher performance and even more effective search. The improvements made to Liquid Glass make it easier to read and add consistent toolbars, optimized window shapes and revised icons in the menu bar.
Prices and availability
The new Mac mini with M6 and M5 Pro can already be ordered. Deliveries will begin on Friday 22 September.
