Today Apple announced the new iPhone 17e with improved performance and greater robustness. Below are the main features and prices.
Even more robust design
Made of aerospace aluminum, a robust yet lightweight material, it has an IP68 splash, drop and dust resistance. The front part is now in Ceramic Shield 2, which all models in the iPhone 17 line are equipped with. It is a harder material than any smartphone glass. This coating, designed by Apple, offers three times more scratch resistance than the previous generation and better anti-reflective properties.
The display remains the 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR Oled, with peak brightness of up to 1,200 nits and compatible with Dolby Vision technology. The classic notch also remains. Also present is the Face ID for biometric authentication and the Action button that can be used for various functions such as torch or shortcuts.
Processor
iPhone 17e differs from the previous model by adopting the latest generation A19 chip based on advanced 3 nanometer technology. The faster and more efficient 6-core CPU can handle any task. The 4-core GPU, with Neural Accelerator, makes console-level gaming possible on mobile, also supporting AAA titles that require more power and hardware-accelerated ray tracing for more realistic lighting and reflections.

iPhone 17e can also count on C1X, the latest generation cellular modem designed by Apple. C1X is up to twice as fast as the C1 on iPhone 16e and reaches the same speed as iPhone Air. C1X uses 30% less power than the iPhone 16 Pro modem, another aspect that contributes to the iPhone 17e’s all-day battery life.
Drums

Fast cable charging via USB-C allows you to bring the iPhone 17e battery up to 50% in about 30 minutes. iPhone 17e is also compatible with MagSafe technologies and the new Qi2 for fast charging with a power of up to 15W compared to the 7.5W Qi wireless charging of the iPhone 16e. MagSafe chargers, as well as mounts, cases, wallets, camera accessories and more easily snap onto the back of iPhone 17e.
Cameras
Nothing new for the 48Mp Fusion rear camera with an optical quality 2x digital telephoto lens. The front camera remains 12 Mp.
Portrait mode improves with advanced image processing that gives natural depth and a smooth bokeh effect that artfully blurs the background while keeping subjects sharp. This advanced processing also makes next-generation portraits possible: iPhone 17e recognizes subjects such as people, dogs and cats, and automatically saves depth information.

iPhone 17e allows you to shoot in 4K with Dolby Vision up to 60 fps. iPhone 17e can also record videos with spatial audio, for an immersive listening experience when using a pair of AirPods or Apple Vision Pro. And the Audio Mix feature introduces new ways to change the sound in videos. With wind noise reduction, powerful machine learning algorithms automatically lower unwanted noise for better audio quality.
Security features
iPhone 17e helps the user stay connected to the world and ask for help when they need it most. When you don’t have access to a cellular or Wi-Fi network, the user can still send text messages to friends and family with Messages via satellite, call for help with Emergency SOS via satellite, and contact roadside assistance providers via satellite. You can also use the Find My app to share your location via satellite, reassuring family and friends of your location, even when traveling to places without network coverage. Accident Detection can recognize a serious car accident and automatically call for help when the user loses consciousness or can’t reach their iPhone.
OS 26 and Apple Intelligence
iPhone 17e comes with iOS 26 as standard, with a beautiful new design and powerful Apple Intelligence features. The new design with Liquid Glass makes experiences in apps and at the system level more expressive and enjoyable. Apple Intelligence lets you communicate in other languages with the “Real-Time Translation” feature available in Messages, FaceTime, Phone, and via AirPods. Visual intelligence also arrives on the iPhone screen: now the user can search, interact and ask questions about the content they view while taking a screenshot. To avoid distractions, the “Call Filter” function automatically answers unknown numbers by asking the reason for the call, while “Hold Assistant” remains on the line for the user while waiting for a real person to answer the call. In Messages you can now choose to filter messages from unknown senders and move them to a dedicated folder to avoid creating confusion in the conversation list.
Availability and price
iPhone 17e will be available for pre-order from March 4th in black, white and light pink, and in 256GB and 512GB models, starting from €729 (same price as the previous 128GB model which has now been eliminated).
