Philips has announced the new Evnia 34m2c5601qa gaming monitor. This model uses a 34-inch display, with a curvature of 1,500R and an UltraWide Quad HD resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 pixels, in a 21:9 aspect ratio.
The Fast Va panel offers a contrast ratio of 4,000:1. Furthermore, SmartContrast analyzes the contents displayed and automatically adjusts the colors and intensity of the backlight based on the image. Hdr10 support improves brightness, contrast and color rendering in compatible content. The monitor displays 1.07 billion colors (8-bit with FRC) and covers 98% of the sRGB color space.
Philips’ new monitor also boasts a refresh rate of up to 200 Hz via DisplayPort 1.4 and compatibility with Adaptive Sync. The monitor also offers a response time of 1 ms, reducing the delay between a command and the corresponding action appearing on the screen.
Advanced game modes offer additional control over visibility and aiming. Stark ShadowBoost reveals more detail in dark areas without overexposing the brightest parts of the image, while Smart Crosshair automatically adjusts the crosshair color relative to the background to keep it visible.
Anti-Blue Light adjusts the monitor’s light output, while Flicker-Free technology optimizes brightness to reduce visible screen flickering. The display also includes an anti-reflective coating and supports 100 x 100 mm Vesa mounting.
The height-adjustable stand offers 130mm of vertical travel, 30 degrees of adjustment in either direction, and tilt adjustment of minus 5 to 20 degrees.
Ambiglow
The three-sided AI-enhanced Ambiglow analyzes incoming content and continuously adapts the color and brightness of the light projected behind the monitor. Plus, by extending the colors on the screen into the surrounding space, it adds an extra layer of ambiance to gaming and entertainment. AmbiScape extends this lighting experience to compatible and Matter-certified room lights, allowing connected lighting to react to content displayed beyond the monitor itself.
Connections and audio
USB-C connectivity supports video, data and power delivery up to 90W, allowing a compatible laptop to connect and charge through a single cable. The integrated hub provides three USB-A ports for peripherals.
An integrated KVM switch allows users to control two connected systems with a single keyboard and mouse. MultiView supports Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture modes, allowing content from two sources to be displayed on the screen simultaneously.
Additional connectivity includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 connection and a headphone output. Two built-in 5W stereo speakers provide integrated audio without requiring separate desktop speakers.
